Mass Effect, the experience

Hi everybody, this is Mehrdad from Iran and this is my first blog entry. Although I don't think this actually qualifies as a blog entry or page or whatever since I'm not planing on saying too much here. Ok, this is the deal. I wanted to write a blog about a video game for some time but never could find the right topic to elaborate on other that just mentioning what was good or bad about the game in various comment sections. Also, ever since Mass Effect 3 came and closed the trilogy with somewhat polarized reaction from the players, I wanted to discuss the game, not just the ending, but the whole trilogy with other players but I didn't feel comfortable spoiling it on the comments of a video or on gamespot fuse. So, I decided to merge both my desires and create this blog entry which will serve as a discussion page, hopefully, between me and other players who have completed Mass Effect 3 and want to share what they think or felt while playing the game. I guess, I'll just say what I think of it and maybe I get to argue about it with you. In my opinion, the game was great. I had a blast playing it. Other than some technical glitches, the overall experience was a satisfying one. I liked the story and the characters a lot and I kind of got the idea of how it will end based on the events I witnessed while playing it, such as Mordin sacrificing himself for giving krogan a new beginning, or in one scenario the Geth VI again sacrificing itself to give geth, self control and intelligence. It was certain that the game is trying to imply that no matter how hard you're trying, the only way to become a legend and save the galaxy is to sacrifice yourself for the greater good which you seem fit. So, I wasn't necessarily surprised that they ended the trilogy in such a poignant and somehow open way. I personally like open endings where they let the audience wonder what would happen next so I liked the ending. However, I get why some people are upset. They're upset because they thought they were going to have a huge impact on the game by making all these different decisions, but what they got was an ending that was decided for them so they felt somehow betrayed by the developer(BioWare). Anyways, sorry for talking too much. Please feel free to write comments and talk about Mass Effect. Since it's only my blog entry, feel free to spoil it. Also, if you do read this, please tell me how to improve my writing skills. Thank you and hope to see you here. Bye Mehrdad
