When disasters like these occur, the people of the responsible party should be forced to work at he customer complaints department and personally answer the questions being asked. Maybe this way they would learn something and reconnect a little with the people buying their games.
@Kingjames11 The NRA makes an iOS game teaching people how to use weapons and giving them tips on gun "safety" a month after a mass shooting and you think this is an over reaction? Yes, guns are inanimate objects, but they're also the most lethal inanimate object in the hands of mentally ill people. Do you really think that a person could commit mass murder using a knife? or a bathtub? The reality is that guns create more violence than they prevent, and there's plenty of research to prove that, research that was carried out in countries were people, and even cops don't carry guns around.
@coasterguy65 @VintAge68 Why would that be the case though? I don't want to start an argument over which console is better, but if Halo 4 was a PS3 exclusive it wouldn't be a better game. The only difference would be slightly better graphics and a free multiplayer but that's it. So how can you say that the only thing keeping it from being "the best thing around" is the fact that it isn't a PS3 exclusive?
I'm a big fan of FIFA 13 but I understand why Football Manager 13 won it this year. As they pointed out it's unexpected to see a game introduce so many changes in only a year. And I disagree with people saying that it doesn't belong here, just because you don't control the players individually doesn't mean that it's not a sports game.
@VintAge68 I see your point but I disagree. If anything, the fact that it's only available on one platform means that they can focus on one console, its controller and its online system, which can minimize bugs and annoying issues that come up when you develop on multiple platforms (ie Skyrim DLCs). Just because a game isn't available on all systems doesn't mean that it can't be the best of its genre.
@DJKrayz_basic @soheil_nassri I personally liked the N64 and Gamecube controllers. What really threw me off was the Wii controller, which felt really unnatural to control games
The fact that some of the people who committed atrocities played "violent" videogames does not mean that their behavior was caused by the games themselves. I'm sure those people also watched TV, ate food and listened to music, does that mean that any of those things can be blamed for their behavior? If anything, you could say that some mentally unstable people are more likely to play violent games, but I seriously doubt that the videogames themselves led them to go on a shooting rampage.
@area51_33 I guess it's about taste, but to be honest, series like these don't become this popular by accident. I would give Halo 4 another try if I were you, if not for the story at least for the multiplayer.
