Absolutely agree. I didn't expect Crysis 3 or anything of that nature. PC will always trump consoles in fidelity thanks to infinitely swappable/upgradeable hardware. I've updated my video card 2x in the last 8 years. Can't do that with a console. That said, I love my PS3 and am glad to own it. Stuttering image is akin to flicker in a movie...headache!

I wanted GTA on the computer because all the trailers looked so next gen and promising. Too bad the actual game play looks pretty mediocre in the fidelity department. I'm guessing the game is great fun, but topping out at 30fps is nauseating to me. Anything under 45 is hard on my eyes.

Sound is probably most disturbing to humans because our hearing is better than our vision. Vision is localized to one direction: the direction in front of our faces. Sound is encompassing, surrounding, totally enveloping. We are very good at localizing sound in 3D space. Without moving our heads, we can generally sense where a sound originated. If the sound seems familiar, like the screams, our memories equate that scream to an emotion we've sensed before. Unfamiliar sounds irk us more because we cannot equate them to a past memory.

Visible violence is much less emotionally connecting, at least to me, because we're desensitized to the sight of blood and gore. Sure, we might become desensitized to sounds, like how some people sleep through alarm clocks, but it seems less common than to sights.

Freespace 2 was the best space-sim ever, in my opinion. I would love to see someone update that game with increased resolution textures and stuff, but not changing the story or anything. Then, play that on Occulus Rift--bonerific!

People who believe games alter people and encourages them to do bad things are diluted. They can't admit to themselves that people make their own choices. They think that someone else makes them do everything (in a matter of speaking), so that they can then blame someone else for their poor choices and poor outcomes.

I just wanted to kill a ton of Ewoks with my lightsaber! I would have bought an open-world Star Wars game for no other purpose than to exterminate Ewoks! I would have payed $60 for that opportunity, but Disney just flushed it away.

Always-on consoles are pointless for consumers, important to manufacturers and developers to protect their content from piracy. That's it! As others have said, PS3 is already online pretty much all the time. Heck, you automatically log-in unless you haven't updated the firmware. Unlike the old systems, people will be "turned off" from purchasing the new systems if they can't play games in single player or local co-op with the network turned off.

I will not be buying the new PS4. PS3 is great. It has a great blu-ray and the games are good. If I want cutting-edge graphics, my computer already obliterates next gen consoles' abilities and if it doesn't, I spend a couple hundred on a new video card and then it's top trump again for another few years. Consoles as a gaming method are outdated. Developers should re-focus on PC gaming. Have fun replying, fan boys.

I agree with Crytek on this one: graphics and audio make a game greatly enveloping. However, like others have mentioned, story makes you appreciate the game. COD games are awful because their graphics, sound and gameplay are dated, and have really dull stories!

Consider this critics of Crysis (original) being ugly. When it came out, it was beyond everything else. Don't compare it to modern tech. Half-Life 2 is still one of the best games of all time because it was visually great when it arrived and had strong audio design and perfect gameplay. The story was hashed out brilliantly, so it was the total package. By today's standard, it looks about as visually appealing as a LEGO game. So let us not forget that times change, technologies change, etc.

Last thought: Far Cry 3 - pretty, kind of dull story, overall a fun and good game. Crysis 3 - really pretty, but seems pretty much like the other 2. I agree with others, lets get a new IP using the nuclear bomb inside the CryEngine 3!

Politics is just talk. Talking about topics that are hot-button issues for their constituents. All she is doing is barking a lot so that her big money donators say, "Hey, she fought for our unpopular, unfounded, unconstitutional beliefs so we should keep feeding her money for reelection campaigning so we don't disappear with her!" She has the right to speak her mind, even though her ideas are senseless and juvenile (a gun is more dangerous because it looks scary because it looks like a military weapon - really? It's so laughable). VOTE YOUR REPRESENTATIVES OUT of office if they support these unconstitutional bills! That's our only recourse.
