2nd party is a company like gamefreak, they do not own them but they make specifically pokemon games for Nintendo making them 2nd party as part of a deal.

Being in the subsidiary division does not mean automatically 2nd party, because according to your own link Retro, 1-up are also first party just like Monolith Soft.

Ubisoft is crap anyway nowadays, couldn't care less whatever happened to them. They have rehashed more games the last decade than any other company out there.
