Eidos is headed for disaster

after reading http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/tombraider8/news.html?sid=6186935&mode=recent

i really have to say, Eidos is not going to find the profit they so desperately need in the "Casual Gaming" market.

casual gaming is an incredibly saturated market with nothing but countless clones of a few decent titles.

it's okay to imitate great games, but there can only be just so many different versions of chess and tetris,

and the few cell phone games that show any measure of originality get imitated countless times almost instantly by multiple companies.

if you don't believe me, go to any website that sells downloads to cell phone games (or PDA games) and look at just how many clones there are of anything claiming to be a "game of the month" or something.

i can totally understand cutbacks, and i can even understand falling back on the game franchises that ensure positive profit margins, but casual gaming is NOT the smartest place to take a chance for Eidos.

that is, unless they plan on bringing new talent and originality to casual games, which i really doubt.

and even then, the kind of people who download casual games aren't discerning by their very nature. they are casual about it.

anyway, it saddens me to see a once great gaming company slip into such lame-o holding pattern, and i truely hope that casual game clutter is cut back and/or, the quality of said content is drastically improved.

What's the story with the playstion store???

I really don't understand why the playstation store is cramping my friggin' style like this!!

It's been like ages and all we have are a handfull of second-rate PS1 titles to download.

COME ON SEA!!! I and countless thousands of others are willing to pay for these dinosaurs of games if you could only bother to make them available!

Japan already has the first 2, count them, 2!!! Resident evil games. Plus they have Dino Crisis, Silent Bomber, and tons of classic RPG stuff to download.

Add to that the fact that you can get a digital ATSC tuner to watch tv in Japan, and you've got a lot of dissapointed American PSP owners.

please comment on my complaints about this issue if you feel the same way, or if you don't!
