so many complete idiots here. look, the only reason developers don't let you play as a german is because of the repercussions from overly politically correct idiots who would think their offended. if anyone is paying attention, every ww2 shooter with multiplayer has been perfectly willing to give you an mp40 and armband, and no one ever cares, for good reason. also, is only the main stream shooters like call of duty and medal of honour that get any complaints. less known games never get bugged by the PC police and several of them already have let you play a german.

for the most part, the uninformed masses that never passed a history class in their life know next to nothing about the nazis and every thing about, in, around, or even slightly related to Germany for the first half of the 20th century gets a huge nazi "evil" stamp stuck on it, and I'm pretty sick of it. only a few evil nuts are really to blame for what happened and every one else was just along for the ride weather they liked it or not. there's no sense blaming the soldiers for every thing, the third reich was NOT nazi, that was just who they got their orders from.

also. for anyone who thinks it's bad taste or something. that big nazi evil stamp I mentioned leads people to belive that the nazis were the worst evil the world has eer seen or something. if you ever took history you might remember that the solviets were MUCH worse, they killed more people for less reason, far more. at least the nazis were good for their own economy, the communists left their country and all of east germany in total ruin.

how many people cared about playing a solviet in world at war? even when you are told to shoot unarmed, surrendering germans, burning their crops, ect.

fun fact: after the war was over, stalin sent every solviet soldier that had set foot in germany to the gulages in siberia, almost all of them died there.

All you guys going on about "best game of the year" this and "better than far cry" that, bull

While I expect to get Resistance 2, and I expect it to be a lot of fun, I think you need to reevaluate your expectations. I'm banking on both far cry 2 and kill zone 2 being a lot better, as to weather resistance will be better than socom, resistance, easy.

I don't expect resistance 2 to be that much more than just a lot of gunfire and pretty much the kind of thing we saw in the first, almost unchanged, but that's great. that's what was fun last time, and the simplistic "blow stuff up" linear gameplay looks just like it used to, so It's gonna be great for fans of the last game, but. maybe I'm totaly wrong about this but I think a lot of people think it's gonna be something bigger than what it is, I know a lot of critics are. so I expect some bad reviews, the hell if that's gonna stop me though.

not gonna be a game of the year by a long shot, or even FPS of the year, but it's still gonna rock.

It would take me a book to summarise the plot up till now, and MGS4 expects you to know all the little details from all the past games right from the start, even from the original metal gear and metal gear2 for the nes. It gives you very little to go one unless you know every character (and there's lots) down to the details. read some plot summarys at least. there's some out there but they take a while to get through, worth it though.

btw, if you have a game cube then try twin snakes instead of MGS1 for the ps, it's more playable with frist person aiming and still gives you the whole story.

Simple,

New guns, first, there were to few standard weapons that you could just unload with, machineguns, assult rifles, an auto shotgun, once you have that, get creative, there was a bunch of stuff they never put in the first game, and with a good physics engine... just look at it this way, remember how popular the gravity gun in half life 2 was.

New chimera, if the game does go deeper into Europe and Russia we might start to see some really messed up stuff, remember, the chimera we've seen are only the ones that invaded Britain, what can we see behind the lines, maybe something that goes invisible, expand on the angels, if they started to mess with your head in game... oh yeah.

Chimera powers in single player, think far cry instincts. at least the heat vision idea.

TANKS IN MULTIPLAYER

Online co op, new game modes, world wide maps, more guns avalible, keep the matchmaker, but add new options.

Expand the story, I remember hearing at some point that those towers had been excavated, EXCAVATED, and they never explained what that was all about.

And I'm not the only one who thinks that walking around with a knife strapped to your arm and never getting to use it was disappointing.

It would be sweet to see something new from the twisted metal seires. I really do miss blowing people up and listening to them scream, but the classic gameplay really isn't enough to make a good game anymore.

Think of what they did when they made metriod prime, it wasn't a 2D remake in good graphics, it was a whole new game. That's what would make meinterestedin a new twisted metal. Lets reinvent things a little, ports are for the weak and cowardly, bring this up to the current genaration of games, make use of the new system hardware.

While I think David Jaffe can do that, easy,I want to see something impressive, and soon. please.

It looks nothing like crysis.

theres alot their doing with this game that gives it more than enough originality, no way can you call this "generic". the use of performance enhanching drugs, that can blur your senses and, if overdosed, drive you into an uncontrolable killing frenzy. not to mention that the developers said that you can get addicted. and thats just the one little mechanic they've put in.

hell, you can play dead. and there arn't many games worth getting these days that have a 4 player online co op.

so i'm definetly getting this. really promising.

Every TV, radio, and sound system in my house is made by sony. as well as a few blu ray movies, all three systems, and a portable discplayer. Once and only once have any of these three systems ever given me problems. back a few years ago my ps2 broke. It was the reader and apparently my fault, whoops. the thing was allready three years old and i don't think we even had a warrenty anymore, but i sent it into sony, they appologised for the malfunction, and sent my a new system. i never thought they would be that cool. I never paid anything, and it only took four days total. that same system they sent me still works. my ps1 still works. and i have yet to have a problem with my ps3. on the other hand i don't know anyone with an xbox or a 360 that hasn't broken at least once.

I do also have all the nintendo handhelds, as well as a 64 and game cube. And I plan to get a wii ( as soon as i can find one ).

Sony is an awsome company and Ilike nintendo too, but i can say that the only thing microsoft ever even touched that will come into my house is windows, and thats only untill they make a mac that will acually play games.

It's a simple fact that the CoD series has never, and will never play anything like battlefield 2 at all. Call of Duty has always been intensely action pacted and cinematic. The game is full of highly explosive and fast-paced gunfire. the battlefield series plays more like a tactical shooter, longer reloads, less health, more realsitic weapon handling, ect. And the action is much slower and far less "intense". hell, you can't even melee without drawing a knife.

While I'm a long time fan of both games, they hardly even fit in the same genre. Why everyone is so god damn insistent on comparing them now that CoD4 is going to be in a modern setting is beyond me. WATCH THE TRAILER, DAMMIT. While it looks like theres going to be alot of modern day stuff added and it's not the same game as any of the previous (what do all you people have against CoD2 anyway?) , it looks pretty clear to me that CoD4 is still going to be almost as fast paced and action packed as before, maintaining alot of what made it so good before, even at the cost of realism.
