The tumbling of the game industry

Well, I think today I've realized something that I should have known long, long ago. Money is the only thing that makes the world go round in the eyes of video game developers. For gamers, playing that quality, lovable game, is everything, and one developer satisfied me to the brim with excellent game after excellent game, and I'm sure you can all guess that was Bioware. The fact that Bioware/Pandemic has been bought by EA has finally made me realize that the game industry is a mess, and will eventually be a monopoly, with EA being the world-power.

It's simply not fair anymore, EA can do anything with Bioware, one of the greatest RPG developers of all time. Turn them into a Mass Effect spinoff churning machine, making 4 to 5 sub-quality games a year. R.I.P. Bioware, one of the greatest videogame companies of all time gave me plenty of memories, such as the excellent KOTOR, the beautiful and exotic Jade Empire, and the addicting and moddable Neverwinter Nights. Now, the videogame industry is in shock, and it's changed dramatically. I hope, somehow that EA manages to topple under all its weight.

By the way, here's a thread on the bioware forums about the press release of this acquisition, and you can tell ALL of Bioware's fans are outraged. In fact, currently I haven't read a single happy reply. What are your thoughts on the breaking of a once near-invincible company?
