I ran this rig, my PC: Intel Duo E6750 2.66Ghz (that's a FSB speed of 1333 Mhz without overclocking) Nvidia 8800 GTS 2GB Kingston RAM at 333Mhz (even though on the box it says 800~ Mhz, the computer somehow only detects 333) Windows XP SP3 None of them are overclocked, and I'm able to run this game at extra FPS at nearly completely maxed settings. The secret? All you gotta do is live in Canada during the winter and keep the window open in your room so it's freezing, and put a typical fan next to the case, and you have free, very efficient cooling, allowing your CPU and GPU to keep >70 degrees celsius, giving you flawless performance. The cold is nothing to worry about. Just put on a sweater and good pants and you're absolutely fine. With this rig I can also run Crysis on high settings. (can't do ultra since I don't have vista or 7). The resolution I play at *is* 1280x720, though. This is because my TV doesn't have a native resolution higher than 1366x768, meaning if I crank it up to 1920x1080 I get HD bluring affects, which really suck. But, if you have x2 Anti-Aliasing, than what's the point of bringing it past 720p, anyway? at that resolution with AA at all, you'll never notice pixels unless you're actually thinking about it (which you shouldn't be). So instead of thinking about buying the new Radeon card or that fancy GTX 280, try tinkering with some extra system cooling instead, and you might be surprised.
