Just finished Outer Worlds. Game was just okay. Not bad but none of it particularly blew me away. Story and everything. The story fell apart in some places. The last boss made me think, "I'm sorry, who are you? You tried to recruit me? News to me..." Then you shoot her a couple times and she dies unclimatically. No introduction or build-up of this character. Nothing ever said about her until I'm standing right in front of her. Never felt any connection with any of the characters. I'm so glad I finished it when I did. It gives me plenty of time to for other games before the Steam summer sale. Played XDefiant for a couple days and dropped it like I thought I would. Can't trust anyone in PVP anymore. FPSs have become the same as fighting games. There comes a time that after trying them over and over again and continuing to drop them that I have to step back and say enough, no more. If I do PVP ever again it's gonna be in only GTA 6 or a 3rd-person, urban, open world game similar to that. Infinite Wealth coming in less than 2 weeks. That's really the only thing other than Balatro, Warframe and the occasional GTA session.
06/22/24 update: Broke down and got Deep Rock Galactic. I'd once in a while think about this game and wonder if I was being too harsh on it. Maybe I didn't understand or accept what it was doing. But I do remember constantly not being able to find my way back to the drop pod those couple times they'd have a free weekend. Well, they had a free weekend again so I decided to try it for a third time. This time I was having a lot of fun with it. I don't know if the arrows leading back to the pod was a recent addition but that made things better. I like the camaraderie of the game. I haven't been attracted to shooting hordes in years but the game overall is fun. Bought it for $10 and now that's in the mix with Balatro, Warframe, soon to be Infinite Wealth and the occasional GTA V. Ok, I'm full. No more video game buying until I get done with IW.
