I would say religion is misrepresented.

There are billions of people worshiping some form of religion, and regardless of what your views on religious beliefs are, it is illogical and unfair to class everyone following religious beliefs to be homogenous in nature. Just because some fanatical Westbro Baptist Church member is homophobic doesn't mean that every Christian is homophobic and bigoted. Just because there is a suicide bomber of Islamic faith doesn't mean every follower of Islam wants to murder.

My belief is that religion can be a tool for both good and evil, and it seems that the people using it for evil acts get all the coverage. Numerous religious organisations (Salvos, Vinnies, etc) have helped millions.

It isn't worth the hassle for $50. Just pay the fine.

Why can we just vote online? Like have an account via SS on whitehouse.gov where you can log in with your SS and other information that's tied to your SS and vote there at your leisure. Fightingfan

Because of the increased security risk that is associated with that (I believe).

I still love the old-fashioned way we vote here in Australia. Paper and pencil the whole way. As soon as voting finsihes the boxes are opened and counted in front of representatives from each candidate running (the "scruitineers"). Whilst scruitineers can look at counting they cannot actually touch the votes. Votes are counted, sorted and cross-referenced, and the number is sent to the Electoral Commission and televised. No chance of hacking, lost votes, technical glitches, etc. A much better system.

We were there at around....9:30, I think. Had an hour to scope the whole place out once we were allowed in. And how f*cking lax was security? They didn't even have the sniffer dogs this time. Not sure if you're aware of the couple of incidents with those idiots lighting a flare in the crowd (I assume at least one, as you probably saw Metallica), but I hope they don't get a little too crazy with their security measures next year...

Screw pat downs.....no one will get in on time if they decide do that.

Celldrax

I know! I couldn't believe how lax it was. Though I do hope those idiots who brought in the flare won't hurt it for next year.

And, surprisingly, no I didn't see Metalica. I chose to prioritise, and I know more Offspring/Blink-182/Paramore songs than Metallica's. However, given the opportunity I would gladly see Metallica.

Most people from other countries that criticize the US are just being foolish because their countries are usually far worse than here and yet they are fine with them. For example, I am stunned whenever someone from the UK acts as if their country is better than the US when they don't even have freedom of speech.Laihendi

The stats are sometimes against America. For example, as an Australian, if I was born in America I would have a 63% more chance of being unemployed, and have a 47% more class divide. I would spend 2.2 times the amount of money on healthcare, yet still die 3.48 years sooner, have a 31% greater chance of dieing in infancy, and be 3 times more likely to have HIV.

Whilst I will have more income (19% more to be precise), I would have to spend less on private education ($7 902 in Australia to $20 517 in the US). 59% of Australians have an Advanced Diploma/Bachelors Degree compared to 39% of Americans. I'm also more likely to die of cardiovascular disease, neuropsychiatric conditions, respiratory conditions and cancer (per 100 000 population).

The one tablet maker that I believe will benefit from Apples demise is Samsung. I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 and I personally believe it craps all over the iPad
What was the best music festival/concert that you've ever attended?

Mine was Soundwave 2013. Metallica, Linkin Park, Blink 182, Offspring, Garbage, Paramore, Slayer, A Parfect Circle, Cypress Hill, Bullet for my Valentine, Sum 41, Dragonforce, etc. So many top-rank artists performing in one place, it was awesome.

Celldrax

*brofist*

I was at the Sydney one on the weekend. Was absolutely buggered at the end of the night.
You also Forgot Anthrax, Red Fang, Fozzy, The Sword, Orange Goblin, Six Feet Under (which unfortunately pulled out), and a few others.

:P
Same, I was there from about 11 in the morning until Paramore finally finished at quarter to 11.

And yeah, I just listed the few that came to head. There were so many bands there ...

Wow really ... sucks for them.

I've done it a few times with mates ... when we have been drinking and run out of coke, we get Dominos to deliver about 6 bottles for us. Just over $20 and no delivery fee :P
