Man, a lot of people getting upset. Upset? Really now. It's a console announcement. Of something you don't have to buy. And that's okay.
I for one am looking forward to what Nintendo has to offer. People forget that Nintendo goes for a different audience. Nintendo does more to create new gamers than the other two consoles. They appeal to casual gamers. To mobile gamers. I applaud Nintendo for trying new things. We already have two console makers that have higher-end specs that offer relatively good graphics and fun. We have PC for the highest specs and a wider variety of games. And Nintendo, too, if offering something different.
Isn't that a good thing? The only people who I would understand should be upset are the people who want a high-res Mario or Zelda. But those games never had to be high end to be incredibly fun and enjoyable. Graphics and power aren't everything. There are tons of fun games that people play all the time (perhaps more often) that don't require all that graphic power. And if they do, they have three other platforms to go to to play those games.
The specs are going to be less than the other consoles. Who cares? You already know they will. Even when they release them, what will it matter? What matters is the quality and perhaps quantity of the games at release and in the year after.
If you don't have the money to buy all three consoles, I understand. Just go with the console that will give you the most fun and enjoyment. I'm sure you'll be satisfied.
Man, a bunch of negativity in here. Who would have thought?
I really enjoyed Lara Croft Go, and the ports of the old school Final Fantasies have been decent (once they get past initial bugs). If they can continue to do a healthy combination of original games and old school games, keep microtransactions out (or at a minimum), then I am all for it. I don't mind spending 5-15 bux on a game that can last me 20 or more hours.
Well deserved. FFXIV pulls in consistent cash flow, build up next generation FFXV, Tomb Raider is doing well. Ever since FFXIV, I feel Squeenix has gotten off their high horse and started listening to their consumers. Can't wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 (and I don't mind waiting).
The only dialogue in this movie should be subtitled.
Everything else is body language and facial expressions.
I know it's a movie, but damn it could be very different and very awesome. If they go the traditional route... well, it will suck. Take some chances, Hollywood. The Team ICO did. Why can't you?
