Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

I haven't been on in a long time. Mostly because of school and because I sometimes have problems logging in. Anyway, I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Hope everyone had a wonderful day.

Christmas this year for my family was kind of low key. We really didn't get that much. Mostly because my parents paid for me to have laser corrective eye surgery. That is the best present they could have ever given me. To be able to see without glasses. It's so amazing.

What I did get this year is The Big Bang Theory: season 1, the Wicked soundtrack, a new cell phone, money, and a book about Bon Jovi. I plan on spending my money buying Psych: season 3, The Big Bang Theory: season 2, and Kyle XY: season 3. I already bought a Supernatural t-shirt. I love my new cell phone. It's touch screen, has a keyboard, and it's blue (which is my favorite color). Plus, it has Internet and text messaging.

Summer's Ending and Classes Start Tomorrow

I'm all moved into my dorm and c!asses begin tomorrow. 2 semesters left and hopefully I'm finished with college. I am so ready to graduate. Of course I have no idea what I want to do once I graduate. I'm taking 5 c!asses this semester. 2 Anthropology c!asses (1 is an archeology c!ass), a personal finance c!ass, a sociology c!ass, and TV and Culture. This semester I'm hoping to get a college ring.

Overe the summer I did nothing but recovery from laser corrective eye surgery. I had PRK which is different from Lasik. PRK can take up to 6 months for your eyes to heal. I had the surgery done a month ago. I've worn glasses since I was about 7 years old. I'm 22 now. When I was first considering getting the surgery done, the eye doctor said I might have to wait until I was 25. I'm so glad I was able to get it done sooner. My eyesight was in the 650 range. Now I'm at 20/25. It's amazing what technology can do. I was pretty blind without my glasses. Now I wake up and I can see everything. It's so amazing to be able to see. The only problems I have are at night sometimes I see halo around lights and if I spend too much time on the computer or watching TV too much my vision goes a little blurry. So I have to make sure I don't spend too much time on my laptop befor c!asses start. That way I can see the board and take notes.

I'm Going to See AC/DC

I got tickets to see AC/DC in concert on October 30. I can't wait to see them. The concert is on a Friday and I'll be away at school. But my dad is coming to pick me up the day of the concert and take me home. I go to school about 2-2 1/2 hours away from where I live. So it's not too far. In the last couple years I have been to 9 concerts/shows. In 2006, I saw Bon Jovi, and Ratt/Poison. In 2007, Guns N Roses. In 2008, Van Halen, Kansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foreigner/Bryan Adams, and Bruce Springsteen. This year, I saw a Led Zeppelin cover band. Half of the bands I have seen had songs in Supernatural.

There's just something about going to see a band perform live. Before I went to the Bon Jovi concert, I thought they were ok and I liked some of their songs. But once I saw them live, everything changed. I became a huge fan and have most of their albums. Still missing a couple. My favorite music is C!assic Rock. That's part of the reason why I love Supernatural so much. Because of the awesome music.

50 Fun Things to Do in Wal-Mart

I saw this posted on a board in a hall in my dorm. So I looked it up and thought I'd post it here.

  1. Take shopping carts for the express purpose of filling them and stranding them at strategic locations.
  2. Ride those little electronic cars at the front of the store.
  3. Set all the alarm clocks to go off at ten minute intervals throughout the day.
  4. Start playing Calvinball; see how many people you can get to join in.
  5. Contaminate the entire auto department by sampling all the spray air fresheners.
  6. Challenge other customers to duels with tubes of gift wrap.
  7. Leave cryptic messages on the typewriters.
  8. Re-dress the mannequins as you see fit.
  9. When there are people behind you, walk really slow, especially thin narrow aisles.
  10. Walk up to an employee and tell him in an official tone, "I think we've got a Code 3 in Housewares," and see what happens.
  11. Tune all the radios to a polka station; then turn them all off and turn the volumes to "10".
  12. Play with the automatic doors.
  13. Walk up to complete strangers and say, "Hi! I haven't seen you in so long!..." etc. See if they play along to avoid embarrassment.
  14. While walking through the clothing department, ask yourself loud enough for all to hear, "Who buys this crap, anyway?"
  15. Repeat Number 14 in the jewelry department.
  16. Ride a display bicycle through the store; claim you're taking it for a "test drive."
  17. Follow people through the aisles, always staying about five feet away. Continue to do this until they leave the department.
  18. Play soccer with a group of friends, using the entire store as your playing field.
  19. As the cashier runs your purchases over the scanner, look mesmerized and say, "Wow. Magic!"
  20. Put M&M's on layaway.
  21. Move "Caution: Wet Floor" signs to carpeted areas.
  22. Set up a tent in the camping department; tell others you'll only invite them in if they bring pillows from Bed and Bath.
  23. Test the fishing rods and see what you can "catch" from the other aisles.
  24. Ask other customers if they have any Grey Poupon.
  25. Drape a blanket around your shoulders and run around saying, "...I'm Batman. Come, Robin-to the Batcave!"
  26. TP as much of the store as possible.
  27. Randomly throw things over into neighboring aisles.
  28. Play with the calculators so that they all spell "hello" upside down.
  29. When someone asks if you need help, begin to cry and ask, "Why won't you people just leave me alone?"
  30. When two or three people are walking ahead of you, run between them, yelling, "Red Rover!"
  31. Make up nonsense products and ask newly hired employees if there are any in stock, i.e., "Do you have any Shnerples here?"
  32. Take up an entire aisle in Toys by setting up a full scale battlefield with G.I. Joes vs. the X-Men.
  33. Take bets on the battle described above.
  34. Nonchalantly "test" the brushes and combs in Cosmetics.
  35. While handling guns in the hunting department, suddenly ask the clerk if he knows where the anti-depressants are. Act as spastic as possible.
  36. Hold indoor shopping cart races.
  37. Dart around suspiciously while humming the theme from Mission: Impossible.
  38. Attempt to fit into very large gym bags.
  39. Attempt to fit others into very large gym bags.
  40. Say things like, "Would you be so kind as to direct me to your Twinkies?"
  41. Set up a "Valet Parking" sign in front of the store.
  42. Two words: "Marco Polo."
  43. Leave Cheerios in Lawn and Garden, pillows in the pet food aisle, etc.
  44. "Re-alphabetize" the CD's in Electronics.
  45. In the auto department, practice your "Madonna" look with various funnels.
  46. When someone steps away from their cart to look at something, quickly make off with it without saying a word.
  47. Relax in the patio furniture until you get kicked out.
  48. When an announcement comes over the loudspeaker, assume the fetal position and scream, "No, no! It's those voices again!"
  49. Pay off layaways fifty cents at a time.
  50. Drag a lounge chair on display over to the magazines and relax. If the store has a food court, buy a soft drink; explain that you don't get out much, and ask if they can put a little umbrella in it.

Why Do Shows Have to End?

Why do great shows have to come to an end? One of my favorite shows, Kyle XY was cancelled. So know more Kyle XY. I can't believe it. And the way that it ended. With a cliffhanger! I swear whenever I watch a show it always ends up getting cancelled. Other shows that are coming to an end within the next year or so are Prison Break and Supernatural. Supernatural is ending after season 5. I don't want it to end, but the creator has said from the beginning that they are only doing 5 seasons. Which means 1 more season and its over. After those shows end, there will be nothing on tv for me to watch. I'm not into the teen drama shows like Gossip Girl or 90210. Give sci fi, supernatural shows instead. The only other shows I watch are Psych, Monk, and Burn Notice. But they have those weird seasons, where you have to wait half a year for new episodes. And when they do air, they only show a couple of episodes and then go on a long hiatus. Which I hate.

Supernatural's Back!!

Supernatural returns tonight!! I can't wait. I've been dying for new episodes. I know the break was only a month. At least the break wasn't a couple of months. Today was a Supernatural day. Today my dad and I drove to St. Augustine, which is only an hour away. On the way we were listening to the radio. I heard Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, Foreigner, and Bob Dylan. All of which had songs in Supernatural. Also on the way, I saw a couple of Psychic/Palm Readers. And I when we were in St. Augustine, I wanted to go on a ghost tour. But, it was $26 per person. Also, I was going to wear my Kansas shirt, which says Carry on Wayward Son, but there was a spider on it. So I wore my Bon Jovi shirt. One of my favorite scenes of season 3, is when Sam and Dean were singing Wanted Dead or Alive.

Spring Break

I going home for spring break on Friday. I'm so excited. I haven't seen my dad in 2 months. I'm a daddy's girl. My mom came to see me on Valentine's day. I got to spend the weekend in a hotel with her. I was so glad to get out of the dorm and away from the campus. I can't wait to go home and have eat home cooked meals. I'm so tired of eating campus food. My dorm is close to a place to dining room. I am so sick of their food. They serve the same food over and over. I can't wait to have my mom's cooking. I'll be home for about a week. The one thing I'm not looking forward to is all the doctors appointments I have. I have been having back pain (a herniated disc) since August. I have had x-rays, an MRI, and an injection into the disc. When I go home I have to see a neurologist. My dad is picking me up on Friday. He'll probably be here around lunchtime. But I have a c!ass at 3:35. So he'll have to wait till I get out. I can't wait to be home again.

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today, my family had to put our dog, Scout, who was a Golden Retriever, to sleep. I can't believe its been a year. Time flies. And most of that time, has been spent away from my family. I've been away at college since last January. Whenever I go home I always expect to see him laying in one of his favorite spots or laying on the floor in my room. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him. He was a great dog. So lovable and friendly. Just the best dog in the world. After we put him to sleep, I took his tag that had his name on it, and put it on my key chain. You know that old saying, that dog is man's best friend. Well, I always considered Scout to be my best friend.

RIP Kim Manners

I just found out that the beloved director and producer Kim Manners has passed away Sunday evening from lung cancer. He will surely be missed. He directed some of the best episodes of Supernatural, most of which are my favorite episodes. He even directed a couple of episodes of 21 Jump Street starring a young Johnny Depp. Kim was a very talented director. RIP. Best wishes to his family and friends.

New Editorship

Yesterday, I became the editor for the show Do Over. Which stars Penn Badgley (who I am the editor of as well). I loved this show. It was such a great show. If you have never seen or heard of it, it is about this 34 year old man who had an accident and was sent back in time to his 14 year old self. He gets a second chance to do things over. It's just another great show that was cancelled before its time.
