@dnsfw_jamus:

I don't see how the PS4 could have ended up catching up and outselling the xbox 360 if it was outsold on a consistant basis in all regions for most of the last 9 years... with the 360 having sold around 5 million years in its head start year! How could that have worked out? people came in drove and bought their PS3s after the PS4 reveal? that's ridiculoud...

The PS3 had better worldwide sales from the get go, locally in the US/UK the 360 had a pretty big lead over it and this forced Sony to adapt their strategy in order to be competitive in these markets... I know people who work in the industry who barely touched the console until Uncharted 2 came out (from then on the exclusive hits just kept rooling and the services Sony offered were interesting compared to what was offered on the MS machine, however the 360 was the defacto console in people's mind)

Anyway, this is over now, I got my PS4 at lauch (seriously I was expecting to buy an MS console this time around, but they had to release an inferior product).

I think you guys drank the MS kool aid a little too much :-/

MS NEver outsold the PS3 globally... on some local markets yes, but over all month after months the PS3 sold more than the 360 did.

Not to say the machine had no benefits, easier to follow upgrade cycle, easier to program and over all better GPU... + some would argue the services associated with it early on... some of the exclusive titles made the machine a contender that had to be taken seriously.

However, the PS3 was and still is a great media player (yay it does not downscale your video files to 720p, supports 3D blueray) it offered many great and a good variety of titles throughout its lifespan, in all regions!

Anyway, I have no problem with giving the xbox team their dues, but saying they dominated anything other than the US/UK is a bit of a stretch...

What, didn't they already give Thomb Raider on PS3 and whatever the title of the PS4 game already a while ago? (I already played them, but never bought them for sure).

Oh, this is why I did not like it much, the other day EA gave it for free to PS4 owners (PS+ I think) .. I gave it a try as the game has a good reputation and some variant of tower defense can always be good... but being forced to play with others killed it for me, glad I did not pay for it!

So a racing game with cars that have great handling and nice tracks that offers all the frills of racing... gets a 5 now?

I think this guy should have taken his anti-depressant pills before reviewing the game, you can ear it in the tone of his voice that something is not right.

Another Alien game that does not meet expectations :-/

It's too long!! cut it out!!

Oh well, we can't decide what is a good "length" for a game, some want the short 4 hours campaign, others want the 60 hour epic...

@Horndawgie I think you should have your glasses prescriptions checked...

The lighting quality and "sterile" environment in DC are much more detailed than those in FH2, it may have other qualities, it even looks pretty nice, it could almost pass for a PS4 game! but it does not look as good as DC.

@CocoaPistolero @pnova Cocoa, it's not your fault... as you saw in the responses, there are some xb1 fans that tout the minimal library their system has as "amazing" and then they come up with a list is titles that failed to impress...

So yeah, the PS4 obviously has less games than the PC (how can you beat an open platform that has been the center of gaming since the early 90s?) and still less variety than the PS360... However, I had the PS4 since launch and this is my main gaming platform, well almost my only gaming platform to be honest... but this is mostly a result of being time limited, having a baby to take care of, I can only play a few hours a week.

So, I would not say you are wrong about the library, if you were looking for a proper JRPG or at least backward compatibility with your physical PS1/2 games that has not happened yet... if you were hoping for a title of the magnitude of the Uncharted games early on, that has not happened yet... and form the look of it, there will be less emphasis on the big budget titles (I refuse to call them "AAA" because honestly, many of them are just plain uninteresting)...

And well, the PC is again the better place for small studios, it's more accessible to them, cost less and it has a big stable user-base (consoles need to rebuild it every cycle).... the indies are cheaper on PC, hell some really good games are free on PC! Really free, not free like in f2p.

@dannydopamine8 Take good quality PS4 screenshots and reduce them to 1280*720, you will see that lot of "tweaks" were made, they don't look that similar.

Also, this is a full on port from one system to the other, it's more like porting a Windows game to Macintosh or something like that... except that they went from one fixed platform to another.

Obviously they edited some configuration files to unlock the frame rate and change the resolution, they also changed the character models, the LOD levels of pretty much everything and added some higher version of textures, and very importantly, instead of just wasting time on a fake research project so that a team could learn the new architecture they are to work on, they created something we can enjoy.

Now on to Uncharted 4!

@hordaak in all honesty, it's like putting on glasses, you see more details everywhere... and the most important thing is the frame rate, it makes the game much more playable.

Now, do you like the PS3 version enough to re-play it? that's the question, if you are hesitant you can wait to find it used or for the price to be lower... I personally don't regret it, I sold my PS3 a little while ago and I never played the DLC chapter...
