Sounds great

Playing dedicated servers with people you chat to on a regular basis elsewhere is the best way of making 'internet buddies' :D

This is my thinking

I began gaming around the age of 10, playing UT on the PC with my brother. I joined his clan and chatted to the same people as he, who were in another clan. Amongst those people was a fellow girly gamer, who to this day I still talk to (10 years on) and regard as one of my closest friends.

Basically, as true as my first point was (imo), the idea works the opposite way too. Playing with/against the same people over a period time can lead onto more conversation back onto a forum that you may not have known was a common interest, and who knows where that would lead!

We know of many occasions where gamers have started converse through a game and have later ended up a happily married couple.

Could this be an opportunity for a 'Gamespots' Cupid Spot' show? Who knows!

What do you rate the chances of some DLC for the game?

My vita arrived Thursday afternoon, and I completed the game last night - I was totally hooked! It's one I will be going for platinum in for sure.

I guess the way the story ended, I wouldn't expect DLC but there could always be more stories created by your character and his/her 'You'.

SO, wishful thinking or a strong possibility?

I agree here, the only game i'm also excited for is Watch Dogs (which will sadly be underrated), although The Division interests me but i'm concerned about how that game would play solo and i'm no rush for a next gen console.

Likewise RE The Divison

I did buy myself a PS4 on launch, and am thoroughly enjoying it though in the last week or so i've felt a sense of boredom almost dawn on me - as if I need a new game but theres just nothing out there worth spending my money on right now.

I am looking forward to seeing how The Order pans out though. I feel like we need something refreshing like LBP to really kick start this gen

I think the whole game was slightly overrated. It could just be my love for SA pushing through, but I just didn't enjoy the SP as much as any of the other episodes - especially Vice City! I feel the series has become too serious - yes, there, I said it - from the likes of Liberty City.

As for the MP, I spent 10 hours at the most trying, pushing myself to enjoy it but I just couldn't. Time went by slowly and I was happy to trade it in towards my eventual purchase of a PS4.

I can see people having a blast on it with IRL friends but for me, no thanks! I'm not even sure if I will be buying the next GTA right off the bat - I guess i'm losing faith in some ways.

On the other hand, i'd love another RDR and would like some news on this 'Agent' game Rockstar were talking about a while back.

I disagree

I think breaking into the console market was a smart move, especially given the amount of potential players who never gamed on the PC and for the most part, have never played an MMO. Unfortunately, the monthly sub is going to put some players off understandably.

I also think this was one wrong way to go about trying to lure console players. Creating a new IP, a new world with new lore may have taken some more years, but in my opinion would have stood a much stronger chance of being a hit, which i'm not expecting this to be. However for this to work, I think a different studio should have taken charge. We all know Beth isn't eye catching when it comes to the animation department!

I think culture has a part to play in it - he claims to have received death threats ect.. would we have seen this in the west?

I don't think independent devs are scared of success, intact I think it's human nature to crave success in anything we do. However, when starting off with a small project as he did and see it take off at the speed it has, I think its vital to have the right support around you - other people with experience in dealing with press, and nurturing the 'baby' as it were even further, to capitalise on the success and make something of it - maybe to create a catapult for yourself into the industry, hoping to be headhunted by a larger indie dev or maybe a more established studio.

It's a shame it's ended this way, but I think anybody posting an app on any kind of store should be prepared for any kind of eventualitity - even the unbelievable!

Thanks for all the comments

I do indeed have PS+, which certainly is a bonus with the free games each month.

I have another few weeks before my discount at work, so we shall see if the bundle is still in stock then :)

Thanks again, happy gaming!

Hi there

Considering purchasing a vita bundled with tearaway and LBP - awaiting my staff discount before ordering

My question is:

Is it worth a purchase if I have no interest in Japanese games, racers or 'huge' AAA titles? I see myself sticking with the PS4 for those huge hits.

The main two games I was looking to play were tearaway and LBP, maybe Guacamale! too.

I also have a PS4 which will mean I can make use of the remote play to play games like FIFA and resgun when the TV is in use.

Thanks

In other words - i'd use it for some games via remote play e.g. FIFA, Resogun ect, and buy mainly platformers and those 'strange' games such as Tearaway and Octodad (should he come to vita)
