Yeah for 15 bucks it's worth it for sure! And the combat is a little bit different but after a few fights, you get used to it. I think you will enjoy it :)
Dragon Age actually led me to Mass Effect believe it or not and I'm a HUGE Mass Effect fan. I would recommend the first Dragon Age and it's expansion pack, you should enjoy it right away. I also recommend Skyrim, and Fallout 3. There's enough in those games to keep you busy for a long time! :)
I agree with the people saying MSE. I used sub software for a long time and switched to MSE with in the last year or so. Works just fine and no cost, just make sure you keep it updated.
