@makchady: Movie theaters are struggling to compete with streaming services and home theaters. As a result, going to the movies has become expensive, turning it into a luxury that only wealthier people might soon afford. While the more affordable options have all shut down across my county, there are some very pricey AMC theaters I can go to with a nice bar, nice seats, and incredible Dolby and IMAX screens—and that’s by design.
Movie theaters aren’t going extinct, just the more affordable ones, which have been replaced by the theaters many of us have at home now. The remaining theaters have necessarily elevated the experience and their price point accordingly. Gone are the days of working-class folks being able to catch a flick in theaters every other week.
The shot callers continue to force unfinished and extremely buggy games out the door. I can’t believe companies still pull this crap on gamers and devs today.
A sign of the times, for sure. I don't think I've watched E3 since the first or second one after Nintendo started doing Direct. For E3 to survive, in my opinion, it will have to be opened up to the public and turned into a fan convention. I remember what it was like watching E3 coverage as a kid and wishing I could attend badly before understanding how it worked.
The demo for this game is a lot of fun. I wouldn’t take anything outside of the combat seriously, so it feels worth a buy at a discount for sure, and co-op is a plus.
Just when you thought DICE/EA couldn’t ruin BF any more, here they go again. They’ve ignored the community for years. I sorely miss this franchise. These moves only demonstrate corporate is totally in control. I’ll continue to play BF4 or BC2 every once in while.
