Yup, still saving up for that Xbox 360. It seems as if no matter what I do I'm always thinking of getting one. For a week I went crazy and started to try doing those stupid refferal websites. I won't mention any of them here since they are all made up of scum and usually the people who succeed in getting the free product are too. Naturally, HDTVs and Xbox 360s go hand-in-hand. Right now I have a 20'inch Emerson defective TV ( picture slants a bit, but I'll get used to it ) and I'm looking to reach the next level.
There's the Widescreen monitor route, but it's entirely too complicated to get it to just play games. For the 360 I'd have to buy an extra VGA cable and then buy either new speakers or different connectors and ect just to get sound with my monitor. From the looks of the package, it seems like it best accomidates LCD monitors with built in speakers. I'll tell you this much: I'm just not for it. Of course, with a TV tuner and all it'd be significantly cheaper than just straight up buying an HDTV, but one of these days I'll get cable back, and one of these days I will likely want something that supports HDMI *cough*big fat console that is amde by arragoant company*cough* (long caugh eh? ).
The one that I've been looking at for a considerable amount of time (a day :P) is the lowest of the Vizio models, the VX20L. It's 20'inches and I'll be damned if it doens't pack a punch. Supports everything except 1080p and it can hook up to your computer. Talk about killing two birds with one stone. It has HDMI, Component, Composite, S-Video, Computer RGB, RF Connector to internal tuner, and Analog Stereo Audio for HDMI port. Basically, it's got everything that I'd want. I'd definately prefer a larger TV because of my visual setbacks, but I'm cool with it. I've been using 20'inches all of my life. It's the cost of an Xbox 360 Premium, by the way. Yeah.....ouch!
I'm so far away from the 360 right now, there's no way that I can be able to get this TV in time for the 360. I'm just going to rough it out all year. Find a job after I leave this one and the end of the school year somehow and work the hell out of it. I really would like a summer job becuase I could the funds for it to pick up more games and then use the school year job to get the HDTV. Not to mention that I'd want to get a TV stand/ entertainment center for it, just to make it all come together. Surround sound might be pushing it just a little bit. But I want to be atleast close to the full experience at the least prices possible, and that's good enough for me. I'm not going to jinx myself, but they probably wouldn't rob me seeing as they'd have no idea that i'd have the stuff in there since my room is in the back of the apartment, which is where I'd put my stuff for that reason. People can easily knock on the door and ask for something completely irrelevant as a diversion to see what you have in your house.
In an unrelated noted, a long time ago my sister and I let someone come in our house through the balcony, some random stranger. He just walked through and went straight to the door. We don't even use that balcony anymore, by the way. Later that night, a detective came to our house asking for some guy, we said we didn't know him. I'm thinking maybe a few weeks later we had got robbed. We didn't have much at that time, but it was enough. They took the dreamcast, VCR, N64,etc. Came in through the kitchen window. Also took some other stuff. We got most of those things back, and now we don't let strangers in our house, ever. We did get robbed again, but the story is so blurry and I don't know alot of the variables in the situation so I'll only tell you a little. Mom invited a man over, we never liked him at all. She let him in like an idiot, when he left my sister's piggybank was cracked open with all of the money taken out of it and 100+ dollars were gone from my brother's drawer. Ofcourse, she's learned her lesson since then.
But back to something that's really important and/or interesting. I want to get this computer put back their too, but that'll never happen. My technically declined mom actually thinks that if I just replace this computer with the one back there that it'd mess something up settings wise. We've done it before, and it worked. If I'm correct, the router holds all of the settings and is on the same network, so I don't even see a problem. My mom won't see it until she walks in and realises it. I want it all in one place, you know? I want one play to call my space. All my life I've had to share my room with someone, and I have to now even though it's only a good 35 percent of the year. I know this is a stereotypical complaint, but she always asks me to clean my room, which I hate because I have no reason to be in there. I mena, the computer in there sucks worse than this one and I don't even use it. If we just switched them then I'd be in there alot and I'd start organizing things better and designing my room better.
Ok, so I've went too places you didn't even want to go with this blog. I'll sum it up.
- Everything I want so far, The 360 (w/ game, 1600 marketplace points, and 12 Month Live Subscription) The Vizio VX20L, The TV Stand, and the cheap Surround Sound, all cost around 1,100 dollars put together. Ugh, back to the old grind. If you haven't noticed now, I'm pretty much broke and can't afford it right now. I'll only be able to get the 360 by the end of this school year ( hopefully) and it might be the last job I get in years if I don't shop around really good.
That's pretty much it as far as this area of my life. Stay tuned for another post full of information that owuld be too congested and off topic to put in this one.
Cheers :D.
