Today, I've noticed that at https://www.gamespot.com/new-games/ where you can see a schedule of newly released games, and/or upcoming releases for the week, is only showing Monday and Tuesday.

For example, this week on Friday is the launch of Spider-Man on PS4. But with the current state of the /new-games page, the Gamespot Community won't have that information at their fingertips if they use Gamespot with their fingertips.

I've tried in multiple browsers, and while logged in and not logged in. All scenarios display the abridged schedule for the week.

Previous weeks are only showing Sunday and Monday releases. Which is really weird, with the usual Tuesday launches in the U.S. where I am located.

@thearcticowl: Hey Owl,

Sorry to hear that you are having controller troubles with Fortnite.

My first recommendation, and only because you didn't mention it specifically in your original post, would be to restart the computer.

If that doesn't help, my next recommendation would be to head to the Fornite hardware support forum here https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/forums/technical-support/hardware-support

Start by looking for others that may be in the same boat as you. If you don't find ANY helpful posts there, make sure that you read the READ FIRST Before reporting a technical issue post at the top of the page that I linked to above. Read it carefully. It gives you instructions on how to report your issue to them properly.

They will probably go through some steps that you have already tried. Bear with them.

Good luck

I don't suppose that anyone here is handy with creating 'Stylish' themes for websites?

There are a few "dark Gamespot" themes at the userstyles website, but they are older or to touch up Gamespot's dark mode.

It would be a good fix for not having the toggle on the home page.

@angerawr Thanks. While I am glad to see that you've gotten the account preference sorted out, I still don't believe that the dark mode feature of the website should solely be hidden behind the site's login/account prefs. It is my belief that the toggle should still be available in the website's header, as well as account authentication preferences. Having the toggle at the top of the page surfaces the feature to new visitors, and having it as an account preference caters to your returning website account holders. Win-Win! :)

In it's current state, how would a new visitor know that the Gamespot website has a dark mode?

I only know about the feature because I used to come here frequently, and it is a feature that I used whether I was logging in for some quality time with Gamespot, or when I was just popping in for a quick peek without logging in.

A poor website UX is poor website design.

I hope that I haven't offended. That was not my intention.

Good luck. Have fun!

@angerawr

Hey there,

Just checking in to see how it is going with trying to get the account setting for dark mode to "Stick" when enabled and Saved when I'm logged in. At this time, I am still forced to go into my account settings every time that I visit the page to toggle on dark mode.

It would be much simpler, and less frustrating, if the setting for a dark/night mode were on the home page where I could have quick access to the setting when I first visit the website.

I still don't agree with the feature being hidden behind a login. With no evidence of it if you aren't logged in.

To some, the ability to put a website into a dark/night mode is an Accessibility Feature, i.e. - folks that suffer from macular degeneration.

But with your defense of, what is in my opinion, the poor execution of your change, I wager we don't see "eye-to-eye" on the topic.

I've chalked it up to poor website design. So poor, that the last time that I posted that I chalked it up to poor web design, the post wasn't posted. Even though I had set it to the "Best Answer".
