For all those people whining about classic controller compatibility all I got to say is ADAPT. I can almost garuntee that once your use to the wiimote your first love for the "controller" will disapate. This is the future of gaming. If i'm not mistaking other consoles are even getting the idea to follow in similar footsteps. I was there too when I first got a wii, just give motion controlls a chance.

knuckl3head

Whether you think that motion controllers are the "wave of the future" or just a cheap gimmick isn't the point... what bothers me is designers should make the games so that EITHER can be used, that way everyone is satisfied. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know how hard that would be though... I'll give you an example... LAIR was a PS3 title that I thought looked great and was a cool idea... and it was virtually unplayable (again, that was myopinion, it was one of the only games I've never finished, and I've stuck through some pretty awful games, lol)because the flight controls were all based on the sixaxis tech. If they had included the option to turn that off and use Ace Combat style flight simulator controls then it would have been great. And there are a lot of PS3 games that now have that option because their early attempts failed so abysmally. I'm curious to see what happens with NATAL and the WAND, but I'd be very surprised if either Microsoft or Sony limited themselves by not having the option to play the game normally. It limits their base of players, and ultimately will affect revenues... which is what they don't want. Those two motion control schemes should enhance the gameplay, not replace it. I just wish Nintendo did the same thing in reverse, and at least gave me the option.

Metroid is fine as it is, I'm not complaining about the controls, just that it's gonna take a while for me to get used to the them because I'm so used to playing FPS's the other way. Again, and sorry for the rant, it went on longer than I anticipated lol, I like my Wii, and my PS3 and my 360, I just wonder aloud why these companies limit themselves like this when it seems pretty obvious that if they gave people more options, more people might play... shrugs.

In the meantime I'll get by using the regular motion controller, just gotta get used to it (practice practice practice), and I am really enjoying the game anyway. Cheers! :D

This is why I gave up on Wii. Very few of the games of the games I was interested in allowed the classic controller to be used.Apostle92627
I was surprised by that too... I figured it would turn some people off of some games... so I'm surprised and confused about why it's at least not an OPTION...

the pro classic controller comes pout in a little while the regular classic controller(which looks like an SNES controller) has come out alreadyHawkEye1997
But I'm assuming it still won't be compatible with games like metroid yes? It doesn't make sense that it would be I suppose without some sort of patch...

It says is ships in a couple of weeks... shrugs. Not sure. It also says it's mostly for the Wiiware games which is fine, no big deal... I was just kinda hoping there would bea happy medium.

Hey all, kinda a Wii Noob question here. I got a Wii not too long ago and have slowly been building up my collection of all the good games I never played. Started Metroid Prime Trilogy last night and am very much enjoying it... but I do wish I could play it with a regular controller (nothing against Wii motion control, I just am so used to playing shooters with a "regular" controller). I know that there are some third party controllers out there and there is an official Nintendo "classic" controller (which looks pretty much just like a PS3 controller) which comes out at the end of this month, but I'm not sure if they are compatible with games like Metroid. Does anyone know?

PS- I'll post this on the main Wii page as well.

That gives you over 8GB but that's still not a lot of room. You should be able to fit one or two games in that if you are lucky. But most likely you just have the 8 MB. What are you trying to install?Sportsnut101
Nothing really, it's just that at times I've tried to start a new game (This was a problem when I tried to replay oblivion cuz the save files are so big I guess). But it came as a shock because I couldn't think what was taking up all that memory. But I guess I've got a lot of game data (different from saved game files yes?) from installs left over and there is nothing wrong with deleting those when I'm not playing those games right? It doesn't delete the saved files? And that game data section is right above where the saved files are? Sorry for all the silly questions, having a long day and I can't really picture it whilst at work!

Okay, let's see if I can explain this... I have a 60gb PS3 that has worked great, but a couple of times I've started games and it's said that I didn't have enough memory available. I find this hard to believe since I don't play online and haven't downloaded anything. I do have a lot of saved game files (which I do "prune" occassionally) but definately not 60gb worth. Anyhoo, I mentioned this to a friend and he told me where to look for the system info (in system settings) and is shows me (I can't remember exactly) 8775 KB/55GB. My question is, and this is REALLY simple, is that first number how much I have available? or how much is being used? I only ask because I don't want to delete anymore old saves and with all the good games that have just come out (that I finally have time to play) I'm wondering how long that will last (in other words, do I need to go and buy a flash drive and back up some old games....)

Whew, that was only slightly more rambling than I expected!

Cheers in advance!
