For all those people whining about classic controller compatibility all I got to say is ADAPT. I can almost garuntee that once your use to the wiimote your first love for the "controller" will disapate. This is the future of gaming. If i'm not mistaking other consoles are even getting the idea to follow in similar footsteps. I was there too when I first got a wii, just give motion controlls a chance.
knuckl3head
Whether you think that motion controllers are the "wave of the future" or just a cheap gimmick isn't the point... what bothers me is designers should make the games so that EITHER can be used, that way everyone is satisfied. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know how hard that would be though... I'll give you an example... LAIR was a PS3 title that I thought looked great and was a cool idea... and it was virtually unplayable (again, that was myopinion, it was one of the only games I've never finished, and I've stuck through some pretty awful games, lol)because the flight controls were all based on the sixaxis tech. If they had included the option to turn that off and use Ace Combat style flight simulator controls then it would have been great. And there are a lot of PS3 games that now have that option because their early attempts failed so abysmally. I'm curious to see what happens with NATAL and the WAND, but I'd be very surprised if either Microsoft or Sony limited themselves by not having the option to play the game normally. It limits their base of players, and ultimately will affect revenues... which is what they don't want. Those two motion control schemes should enhance the gameplay, not replace it. I just wish Nintendo did the same thing in reverse, and at least gave me the option.
Metroid is fine as it is, I'm not complaining about the controls, just that it's gonna take a while for me to get used to the them because I'm so used to playing FPS's the other way. Again, and sorry for the rant, it went on longer than I anticipated lol, I like my Wii, and my PS3 and my 360, I just wonder aloud why these companies limit themselves like this when it seems pretty obvious that if they gave people more options, more people might play... shrugs.
