I had about 400 points in my Xbox Live account and was looking to download an Arcade game the other day for 800 points. That meant shelling out a full $12.50 for 1,000 points. Then I noticed the new 'smaller bite' 500 point purchase option for $6.25. That was the perfect amount, so I didn't have to spend a lot more to play a game.

We always complain when a company gets it wrong, but we should stand up and applaud when they get it right too. With the advent of GH and RB, the smaller purchase amount is perfect for one or two song downloads for either game. Bravo Microsoft, the Xbox Live team and thank you for 'smaller bites'.

On the main page of Gamespot this morning I found a sidebar heading "Game Watch 07: 30 Must Have Games", sponsored by Patron. For those that are not aware of the Patron product, it is a high end Tequila. My problem is this; Gamespot is a site for previewing, reviewing and discussing video games and other electronic entertainment. It therefore attracts a large number of minors to the site. I think it is in poor judgment and demonstrates a lack of moral integrity to have an alcoholic product as a sponsor of anything associated with this site.

I am sure Gamespot could find any number of advertisers to fill this spot.Producers of games would need to be excluded in order to maintain impartiality. However, I am sure any number of sponsors could be found to reach the demographics that visit this site every day.

So I ask you to look inside yourself and speak out. Take a stand and let those that run this site know what you think.
