I realized. Gaming is not something you can easily quit. I'm back in gaming, saving up money for a PSP Go! and buying a beast laptop that can max out pretty much anything. Although it has been a nice game free holiday, gaming is back in the house with me!

I Have Officialy Quit 'Gaming'
by Resistance_Kid on Comments
I recently made the decision, to quite gaming for good. It has become far too addicting, and I decided to quit before I became a total addict like some strange people(who decide to kill people in real life for their hobby), and turned my full attention to music.
Also, Pc gaming has begun to lose it's quality, and some sites actually started rejecting them(*cough*Gamespot*cough*), so the PC gaming standard has dropped.
The only games I will still occasionally play are Resistance Retribution and Halo Combat Evolved Custom Edition(Epic win multiplayer).
I have sold and given away all of my games, so my library is now empty(except for my PSP library, I use my PSP for travel entertainment and such).
Thanks to all of Gamespot for helping me out when I was in need, and I inform you that I will still be on the OT board 24/7 :P
Thanks again guys, it was a great run, that came to an abrupt halt.
But it sure as hell was a mad ride.
Unreal 2 - The Awakening is a breath of fresh air.

Very good game, glad I listened to Kevin V on this one. Although a bit like Halo in some aspects, overall, the game is great.
Dead Space
by Resistance_Kid on Comments
Wow. It has been a long time since a video game manage to scare me, but that time has come. Dead Space is one of the scariest games in the history of gaming, and it holds its place.
The atmosphere is unbelieveably tense. Around every corner, I draw my gun, ready to fight whatever is waiting for me. Everytime i walk through a brightly lit room, an the lights go out, I know somethings wrong and I prepare myself.
Dead space is amazingly original, especially because of its presentation, the menus are very unique and comfortable, as well as the interface. Your health bar is interestingly enough shown on the back of your suit, and you find out were your next objective is by pressing a button, which reveals a thin trail, leading directly to your goal.
The storyline is also great, although I just started playing, I already love it.
The suspense is like I said, unbelievable. Finally, there is a game which can scare the living daylights out of you, and it's a great game too.

X3100 bad for gaming? Not just yet!
by Resistance_Kid on Comments
Well, I am going to be truthful here. The Intel GMA X3100 is no where near being a great graphics card. But that doesn't mean that it isn't good for gaming. See, ever since i got it, I've been testing lots and lots of games on it, and I have come up with the conclusion that although it's most certainly not a gamers card, it can still run a lot of great games.
Here are SOME of my results(the ones i remember of the top of my head):
Age of Empires Series - 30+ FPS
Call of Duty - 20+ FPS(on maximum settings)
Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare - 15+ FPS
Counter Strike 1.6+Source - 20+FPS
F.E.A.R. - 60+ FPS(on medium low settings)
Left 4 Dead - 15-40 FPS
Left 4 Dead 2 - 10-30 FPS
BioShock - 10-40 FPS
Half Life + Half Life 2 - 30-80 FPS
Killing Floor - 20+ FPS(maximum settings)
The Sum of all Fears - 30+ FPS
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon - 30+ FPS
PES 2010 - 20+ FPS
Fifa 2010 - 20+ FPS
Need for Speed Most Wanted - 20+ FPS
Unreal Tournament - 30+ FPS
Max Payne - 25+ FPS
Prince of Persia The Two Thrones - 20+ FPS
Line of Sight Vietname - 25+FPS
Halo Combat Evolved - 20+ FPS
Return to Castle Wolfenstein - 25+ FPS
Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl - 20+ FPS
Stalker Call of Pripyat(which is a brand new game) - 20+ FPS
I have tested all these on the X3100, and got the results posted above.
If anyone would like to know how I achieved these results, then PM me, and I will tell you.
Left 4 Dead
by Resistance_Kid on Comments
I love it. Bottom line. It's so awesome to go around, slaughtering horde after horde of zombies, i can't explain it, just so satisfying. And to top that, i have team mates and good guns.
Left 4 Dead 2 is the next game on my list, simply because L4D satisfied me in every way!

Well, I got the game today, and im awed by how awesome it is. Horror mixed with Shooter, the result is a Gruesome, bloody and violent shooter, which is simply amazing. Loving every moment.
Old vs New, who will win? (Part One)
by Resistance_Kid on Comments
Having played loads of old games lately, I've decided to try and compare a few oldies with the new games. The games i mention are based on my opinion, so it's just personal really. New games are games from 2005 and up, so obviously old ones are anything under.
#5. First Person Shooter: Half Life 2 vs Modern Warfare(COD)
Now, for First Person Shooters, I pitted HL2 and COD4 against each other, simply because in my opinion, they define the genre(sort of)
Graphics:
HL2 - Half Life 2 has revolutionary graphics, in 2004, they were the best to date, and even now, they are up there in the top 10.
COD4 - With a little tuning, this game turns into a movie, truly eye candy, looks extraordinary.
Winner: COD4. Even though HL2 looks awesome, COD4 just looks better on max settings.
Story:
HL2 - Half Life 2 has a very weak and disappointing story, really made me sad.
COD4 - I liked the story here, it made me anxious to go forward, but was over quickly.
Winner: COD4. I enjoyed the COD4 story far more than HL2. HL2 neither thrilled me nor surprised me here.
Gameplay:
HL2 - This is where Half Life 2 shines. The gameplay is simply awesome.
COD4 - Quite simple. Shoot, Run, Reload. Rinse and repeat.
Winner: Half Life 2. No doubt in this one, i didn't hesitate with this choice.
Sound:
HL2 - yet another area of expertise. HL2 sounds fantastic in every way.
COD4 - same as Half Life, it sound great
Winner: Draw. I couldn't decide, bothe games sound great, and i really couldn't pick favourites here.
Value:
HL2 - is worth every cent.
COD4 - is a bit short, but still worth the cash.
Winner: Half Life 2. Not only does it pack a lengthy campaign, but it is just plain fun overall.
OVERALL WINNER:
Half Life 2. Seeing that the COD4 and HL2 tied, i had to make a choice based on my opinion, and Half Life 2 narrowly pulls the win.
That's it for now, next comparison will be:
Third Person Shooters.
Half Life Platinum Pack, Mine to Savour
by Resistance_Kid on Comments
I just got it, I was registering my 10-year-old copy of Half Life with my 10-year-old key and guess what, i got the list of platinum games for download, so naturally I downloaded them(not pirating, i paid for the key).
And it is awesome. Counter Strike is especially addicting, Half Life is Half Life, and the other games don't make it worse.
