Companies are always trying to nickel and dime, and the Nintendo crowd is the easiest to net. Unfortunately, it's the rest of us that have to suffer because of them.
Remember when people stood firm against Microsoft, and forced them to back-pedal the Xbox One launch initiatives? Yeah, I don't see that happening here. Current Nintendo has reached Apple/Disney status to the general consumer, and Nintendo fanboys are bigger bootlickers than Madden and Fifa fans. Welcome to the new world.
Not sure about that. They backed up during the 3DS era, and the Wii U is an outright failure I'm sure is still fresh on Nintendo's mind and something they won't want to repeat.
We shall see. If the backlash goes mainstream and all channels report on this, there is hope.
They're coming off a much bigger high than back then, and there's also no confusion regarding that this is a successor system. I'd be happy to be wrong, but I have a hard time believing the Switch 2 will sell anything less than record breaking numbers. Most of the people complaining probably do the same with Pokemon, but those games sell more and more each generation.

Probably ~1995. Star Wars games were my big draw to it like Dark Forces, TIE Fighter, etc. I used to play some SEGA stuff as well like Sonic CD and Virtua Fighter 2, the latter of which was way better than the Saturn version.
The Street Fighter II Animated movie is the best video game adaptation ever, but I really enjoyed Sonic 3 recently, so I'd put it at #2. Sonic in general has good shows.
Films:
Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie
Sonic 3
Sonic OVA
Sonic 1
Sonic 2
Mortal Kombat
Street Fighter The Movie
Cartoons:
The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (I used to watch this every weekday morning, and it still makes me laugh)
