Im almost positive im getting a ps3 for christmas and i was wondering what games you guys think i should get.

My favorite 2 genres are RPGs and Shooters.. I can only get 3 or so games because im not rich
I like tactical games that make you think and use some kind of strategy

I was thinking of MGS4, Dragon Age, and CoD:MW2.

Are there any badass tactical shooters for the PS3 because i was thinking of getting another game instead of cod mw2 after hearing all the people complain about it.

Will you get extra points from the school towards your grade?

If not, then why bother doing that sort of thing via the school. Why not just have a club at someones house. That way you can do whatever the hell you want. Why would need the school for that anyway? I can understand a basketball club for example because you need the court. But what does the school offer that you can't get yourself?

I can just imagine someone yelling a curse word after being sniped in the head, and one of the teachers telling you off for it and disbanning your club all together. It may sound like a good idea, and everyone has good intentions, but I could just see something like this ending in tears.

Someones basement would be so much cooler for this sort of thing to.

Lol I see what you mean but parents would much more allow someone to stay after school for a club rather than sending them over someones house... Plus the classrooms all have huge projecters

I know a school near me that has a club like that. I personally do not go there but one of my friends does. I think if you had enough people who wanted to do it then there is no stopping you. im sure theres a teacher that will sponsor you. As for times and stuff why not have have it every other day for an hour or two and have tournments every month for a different game.

Hope it helped

Yeah I am just hesitant to start off like every other day because the sponser may not want to give that much time and most clubs are like once a week. But trust me i can see people wanting to come more. thanks for the tornment idea that would be awesome

This sounds like a really good idea to me. I'd bet there's a good amount of students that would want to join a video game club. I think bringing in a console and holding competitions would be a good way of going about the club. You brought up Halo 3 which would be good one because of how popular first-person shooters are right now. Also, maybe a fighting game competition.. i could see that getting pretty heated and fun :).

If you wanted to discuss game news then maybe bring in a game magazine if you're subscribed to one. It'll keep everyone updated on what's going on and it would be simple for you to manage. You wouldn't need to do any research or anything because the magazine would have everything you need.

You might have trouble getting approval to play M rated games though

Hope it works out for you

Yeah man, thanks for the gamer magizine idea that would be a good addition to the club. I don't get subscriptions but i know a kid who would join that gets gameinformer.

About the rated M games... Well i was just like not going to mention it because it's not a law, it's just a reccomendation and were all high school students who playRated M gamesanyways... whats a little alien blood ? lol

Me and my friend were thinking of makeing a video game club in our high school. We came about the idea and approached one of the administraters and she just said it sounded like an excellent idea it just has to be reasonable, there has to be a sponser/superviser, and the principal needs to permit it. I figured that shoulden't be too hard...

But I need a few opinions from you guys:

What should we be doing?

A. Somehow ( will be hard) convince the technical leader to allow us to install a few games on some of the computers. we havelots of comptuers like 4 labs with 14 computers+in each lab. We would just need administrater access and permision to install one, maybe two 2GB games.

B. Get together and basically discuss video games and have events through the internet ( playing at home but with the club).

C. Bring me, or my friend's, or me and my friend's Xbox360 and a few controllers and have competitions on halo 3/ etc... There would be like 4 controlers for about 8-10 people so we wouldent all be playing at once.

Which idea, or combination of ideas, do you think is most fitting? Any other ideas?

How long per meeting and how often should we meet?

I was thinking since gamers like to play for long sessions that 1 hour would be too short and we would need like 1hr 30min - 2hrs.

And I was thinking we should meet either once per week or once every other week.

Anyways if anyone has become a part of a video game club for a high school ( I know they are out there) or is a leader of one let me know how things work out and all...

Appreciate all of your help and opinions, Ray

I am just saying if they released a decent mmo for the 360 with no monthly fee (completly possible) they would make so many fans, and so much money, and im wondering why they don't
