Oh, also..

That Twin Atlantic band me and 02sfraser were seeing a couple nights back, they're awesome and if you have the chance, check them out somewhere like myspace or that.

Here's 02sfraser and i with the guitarist Barry..

Barrison

..yup, very sweaty indeed. Happy though!

Samsonite

..and that is us with Sam, the lead vocalist of the band. Looks like there's a colour code going on here - good of me to wear green and Stu to wear red. They were good gigs like.

Pre-Sleep Expression.

That's what i'll be calling my 'i'm about to go to bed since i'm bored but i want to do something before i do so' blogs :)

I get the feeling all the time.

When i was younger, i'd hate going to bed - who didn't - just because there was soo many more things to do!

Anyway, I've just been cruising around the latest game news and there's not much that applies to me really. However, Mercenaries 2 - out tomorrow - has been rated 5 from Gamespot. I was considering purchasing it tomorrow after 02sfraser's friend's mum's boyfriend (phew!) said it was gonna be good! Although reading the review.. yup.. um.. i think i'll pass.

I know Gamespot are very harsh with the reviews these days (recently read the whole story with Gurstman, or however it's spelt, being sacked over the Kane and Lynch review) but to be honest, it's easy to believe all the things they mention being very poorly done.

Not to mention, i should be saving up for Uni! My wallet's gonna be empty enough after i've gone and bought LBP, Resistance2, Bioshock, Fallout3, Naruto: Ninja Storm and.. oh, wait. That's only PS3!

I'm also trying ever so hard (honest) to save up for a 360, if only for Fable 2!

Harsh times for me considering i'll be living the rough life of a student from the 14th onwards..

Oh.

Uhoh. News flash. Final Fantasy IV is out here tomorrow..

OK, change of plan! All that mumbling about saving money right out the window! FFIV looks like a great remake, especially after playing FFIII a while back! I was browsing about release dates when i came across that.. how convenient! That's tomorrow's plans sorted :P

Aahh, well. Previously in the week, i went to see the first Death Note film with 02sfraser. I had already seen it as i've watched the anime and thought it was only right to do so. The story varied from the original magna plot, but i thought it was alright; mainly enjoying seeing the characters played out in human (especially Watari and Senior Yagami, brilliant!). After thinking about why i'd never bothered to watch the second film.. i downloaded it! :D Why not?

The second film was changed even more drastically from the original plot. The ending could even be thought of as an alternate finish to the story all together! It was as though the characters roles had been switched.. although it came to near enough the same outcome. Again, i enjoyed the human representation of the characters i love from the anime and manga :)

After chatting to a lad who should be joining me on my Computer Games Technology degree on MSN, we've got ourselves all excited about leaving home to begin our careers. We heard two different stories whilst attending open-days..

The boy, Dan, was told that one guy was sent to Japan for a years placement with Nintendo! We took a while to ourselves typing words like 'awesome' and 'jees' for about half an hour.

The one i heard was from a 3rd year student 'Big Dave' who was re-sitting that year. His mate had passed that years exams and was offered a job from Phillips. So, now while Big Dave sits in Dundee studying, this friend of his is travelling the world, setting up a program he developed in different branches of Phillips, and taking a few months to show the teams out there how to use it - all expenses paid.

If i managed to score myself a job like that at the end of this degree.. i don't know what i'd do with myself. Honestly.

So with that amazing thought in mind, i think i'll get myself to sleep and hopefully have happy dreams of programming Final Fantasy 27 under the rule of the government of Squareenixia, a country in Asia.

Night :)

The World Begins With You!

The World Ends With You is a brilliant game.

After completing it recently i can't help but think how wonderful a game it was.

Recommended for sure!

Since the game is set in the Shibuya district of Tokyo, i'll use this opportunity to boast and say that at the age of 16, me and one other friend went to Tokyo and witnessed Shibuya amongst all the other well known places :P

This made me love the game so much more!

So yeah, if you aint played the game, maybe check out my review? Again, it's my first so i dunno if i've done it well or not :)

In other news, me and 02sfraser went to another gig tonight to see the two bands we seen last night! haha. After being wrecked out of our faces last night we were getting the crack with the band members and ended up promising them we'd attend tonights also! It was good again though, slightly different crowd since last nights was an over 18s and tonights was over 14s. Fantastic group of guys and we'll be seeing them as much as possible :)

cheeyaaaa!

muhh, banners and stuff..

i'm not very good with all this stuff.

had my first attempt at making a banner and profile image today. took me ages!

think i did alright though.. kinda shows what i'm into and that from a glance :) does the job!

the one problem i had, and have with the profile image, is the filesize and quality.

Anybody teach me how to sort that out? Tricks of the trade and all that :)

I'm cracking on with TWEWY, and my god does week three jump up in difficulty. I suppose it's well done though because at this stage in the game the story is so intense that you really wanna finish it, but find yourself in the middle of quite a battlefield. These noise are hard!

Ahhwell. Good times.

I'm gonna host my annual room tidying festival tomorrow so i'm not sure i'll have the time to do anything. My days plan should go something like..

1. Sleep till 3

2. eat a wee bit

3. play some games if i'm lucky?

4. tidy my room

5. girlfriend will be round

6. hit the town with 02sfraser.

We're heading into town to a local venue and bar Hootanannys, where the upstairs, Madhatters, hosts various different genres of bands from time to time. Tomorrow night a scottish band by the name of Twin Atlantic are playing, and they're pretty catchy so we'll be checking them out :)

If you don't mind could you maybe give me some critical feedback and tips on banners and such?

I don't mind :)

And i'll speak again sometime soon!

ciaaoooo!

Another dawn, another day.

Okay, first i'd like to thank my friend 02sfraser for sticking that bit about me in one of his most recent blogs :) Cheers man! Met a couple of new people who seem cool!

There hasn't been much to do recently besides work, hence giving me a bit of time to get the games i previously never finished back out. Two in particular being DMC4 and TheWorldEndsWithYou. I started these games before my exams came about, and since i really wanted to do well this year, i kinda gave up half way through :(

No worries though! Stu and i popped down to see an animated film in a local cinema - Vexille. It was quite good but fairly strange since Japan becomes pretty much extinct by the end? :S hah. But yeah, when i got back i stuck it on and finally completed DevilMayCry4 two seconds ago, and enjoyed the ending very much so! Getting the main theme downloaded if i can find it! ;) I can't quite remember though.. Did it explain in the game why Nero was so much like Dante? Maybe my memory is playing up or something like usual, but if somebody could tell me that'd be great :D Was something to do with him being half demon or something but.. ach, wikipedia? :P

As for TWEWY, i've been making my way through that patiently since i got back from my holiday on a cruise ship to the Baltic Capitals with my family :)

Another thing i just read. Been keeping up to date with the Naruto manga, and i just read 413 i think it was? The eight-tails jinchuuriki just awakened his demon! Sasuke better pull of some cheeky moves now :D Dunno who else follows it?.. :)

Anyway, since i decided to buy Warhawk and Uncharted for cheap the other day, i think i'll stick them on and have a wee play about before crashing out :P Shouldn't stay up too late since my favourite band, Biffy Clyro, have released a new single 'Mountains' (check it out..) which is out tomorrow! Excited to hear those B-sides!! :D

Speak soon! :)

Ross.

'..Nothing shall forestall my return.'

Hi there!

I'll use this first blog to properly introduce myself :)

I'm Ross Gough, live in Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland and love the way I'm currently headed in life.

I'm heading to Dundee to to a degree in Computer Games Technology which, as you can imagine, I am much hyped about.

I take great interest in the world of anime and manga and thoroughly enjoy spending my time wasting away in my room, reading/watching some particular series'.

I own a Wii, DS, PS3 and PSP, and play each a fair bit (excluding the PSP :P Use it for hacking and FFVII if anything, not really my thing otherwise; prefer my DS by far). Also, I am hoping to save money and add a 360 to the troupe.. if only for the likes of Fable 2 ;) Games wise, I am very fond of SquareEnix with FF and KH games amongst others, like the more recent 'The World Ends With You' which i think is awesome. I have also been a constant MGS fan despite having not had a PS1.. I was only able to play MGS on my cousins console and wasn't able to pick it up properly untill MGS2. As for Nintendo franchises, I am in love with the Zelda series and typically believe OoT to be perhaps the most perfect game. There are obviously plenty others, but for the sake of preventing a ramble i'll stop there :)

I used to be a member of Gamespot many moons ago, but i tend to suffer busy periods every now and then, so decided to stop and start again. Although i created this account in april i think it was? i have had a strange summer where everything has happened, and not too good either. However, i am going to make the effort this time round as i have finished school for good and hope to be speaking wit many of you soon :) Any questions or anything and i'll happily answer.. although i'm not really sure why you'd wanna ask about me.. haha!

Here's to a happy return and I'll look forward to getting the crack with you all :)
