That's what i'll be calling my 'i'm about to go to bed since i'm bored but i want to do something before i do so' blogs :)
I get the feeling all the time.
When i was younger, i'd hate going to bed - who didn't - just because there was soo many more things to do!
Anyway, I've just been cruising around the latest game news and there's not much that applies to me really. However, Mercenaries 2 - out tomorrow - has been rated 5 from Gamespot. I was considering purchasing it tomorrow after 02sfraser's friend's mum's boyfriend (phew!) said it was gonna be good! Although reading the review.. yup.. um.. i think i'll pass.
I know Gamespot are very harsh with the reviews these days (recently read the whole story with Gurstman, or however it's spelt, being sacked over the Kane and Lynch review) but to be honest, it's easy to believe all the things they mention being very poorly done.
Not to mention, i should be saving up for Uni! My wallet's gonna be empty enough after i've gone and bought LBP, Resistance2, Bioshock, Fallout3, Naruto: Ninja Storm and.. oh, wait. That's only PS3!
I'm also trying ever so hard (honest) to save up for a 360, if only for Fable 2!
Harsh times for me considering i'll be living the rough life of a student from the 14th onwards..
Oh.
Uhoh. News flash. Final Fantasy IV is out here tomorrow..
OK, change of plan! All that mumbling about saving money right out the window! FFIV looks like a great remake, especially after playing FFIII a while back! I was browsing about release dates when i came across that.. how convenient! That's tomorrow's plans sorted :P
Aahh, well. Previously in the week, i went to see the first Death Note film with 02sfraser. I had already seen it as i've watched the anime and thought it was only right to do so. The story varied from the original magna plot, but i thought it was alright; mainly enjoying seeing the characters played out in human (especially Watari and Senior Yagami, brilliant!). After thinking about why i'd never bothered to watch the second film.. i downloaded it! :D Why not?
The second film was changed even more drastically from the original plot. The ending could even be thought of as an alternate finish to the story all together! It was as though the characters roles had been switched.. although it came to near enough the same outcome. Again, i enjoyed the human representation of the characters i love from the anime and manga :)
After chatting to a lad who should be joining me on my Computer Games Technology degree on MSN, we've got ourselves all excited about leaving home to begin our careers. We heard two different stories whilst attending open-days..
The boy, Dan, was told that one guy was sent to Japan for a years placement with Nintendo! We took a while to ourselves typing words like 'awesome' and 'jees' for about half an hour.
The one i heard was from a 3rd year student 'Big Dave' who was re-sitting that year. His mate had passed that years exams and was offered a job from Phillips. So, now while Big Dave sits in Dundee studying, this friend of his is travelling the world, setting up a program he developed in different branches of Phillips, and taking a few months to show the teams out there how to use it - all expenses paid.
If i managed to score myself a job like that at the end of this degree.. i don't know what i'd do with myself. Honestly.
So with that amazing thought in mind, i think i'll get myself to sleep and hopefully have happy dreams of programming Final Fantasy 27 under the rule of the government of Squareenixia, a country in Asia.
Night :)
