I love emus. They were a beautiful species before they went extinct. Maybe in a next life I'll choose to experience being an Emu.

Eternal Sonata or Folklore. Both are older games so you won't have to pay a premium price for them. You won't want to waste $60+ on a genre you don't know if you like or not yet. The games are fairly easy and aren't overly complicated so it should ease you into the RPG world. I hope you like these types of games, I know RPGs have become my favorite genre after I rented a copy of FFVII!
