School-based Gamers' Network

...comparable to a clan, I suppose.

...very hard to get it up and running. Actually setting the basework, your idea, communication tool (in this case, Facebook), is pretty easy. So maybe it's just a matter of patience, "Build it and they will come." On the other hand I've no real idea how to set up a real compulsion for people to join.

Maybe cos I just came up with the idea in the shower on Monday. Hm.

...just a random blip note. Readers, have you ever tried starting something in school that gathered all the gamers together for...I suppose nerdiness at its finest. You would think, however, since gaming's somewhat more mainstream than it was years ago, it wouldn't be that bad of an idea.

...I mean, heck, look where I'm writing this.

Ehhhh...wot?

So I heard a rumor going 'round that in a week me or so the McNamara class of '09 are gonna be seniors....

...shiitake. Still haven't set up that "Gamers' Guild," Mac division yet...

...yes, it doesn't exist. Bad joke. Yagh, sorry.

...who am I talking to.

Anyways...GameSpot got a new layout update...amazing. Hasn't crashed on me yet.

...now I just need to find where my Live gamercard went...

Post Script:

Ah, there it is. Now Microsoft needs to explain why I can't get into their site on my e-mail, and why I can't get my password reset...bugger..

"School days, bull days..."

Nyagh, two weeks left of summer...

...lessee, game-wise, what've I done....in no particular order...

- Neverwinter Nights -Shadows of Undrentide Campaign (wanted to run my bard character through the fan-made Shadohaunt "interlude", but unfortunately someone forgot to TURN DOWN the bloody amount of instant death spells..)

- Guitar Hero (II) -Fairly decent at MOST of the non-bonus songs on Medium (disregarding perhaps blasted Psychobilly Freakout, for instance), can play probably the first two sets of songs on Hard, and can somewhat get through Life Wasted, Possum Kingdom, and Heart-Shaped Box (heh) on Expert. As for the ol' favorite, Woman...well...things are a tad difficult even on Hard. Jeh.

- Oblivion - ...well, for some reason I can't run the content I downloaded through Live on the new 360 'less I'm connected to Live in the stuffy-as-heck den.And this includes Shivering Isles...*twitches* Still,Oblivion's stillquite fun. Made a character based off of a friend of mine for kicks, and one a Khajiit with the class of "Drunk Master" (cos 'Drunken Master' wouldn't fit), named...Ji'Stree Kir. ...yup. Haha. He runs around clad only in a loin cloth and the Bracers of Khen Loah (or whatever they're called, they're in the chest outside the Arena), and he somehow gets away with jobs for the Thieves Guild, indecent exposure, drunkeness, and the occasional public brawl. Sometimes or not simultaneously. Heheh.

- Finally played a Wii. Okay, so the game was only Wii Sports. The heat in Greg's house was naggy and I think I got something like a migraine while playing Boxing, but DAMN, was that fun. The family's sold, too. Heheh.

- Got...or rather, the sister got Brain Age for the DS. 'Tis quite entertaining, surprisingly.

- Haven't actually gotten any new games this summer, now that I think about it. Mostly just been buying Forgotten Realms paperbacks and such. Then again, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Halo 3, and all other such coming out in Fall...probably will only end up getting two of any of those games, heh.

'Tis about all that comes to mind at the moment.

Finally.

Approximately at 2 AM this morning, I finished the official Neverwinter Nights Campaign.

...and immediately launched into Aribeth's Revival. -_-

...ah, well, summer shouldn't be boring much this way. Heheh..

"...back...from outer space..."

Hm. Well, in the hectic emotional time since my 360 died and I waited about three months before calling to send it in and get a replacement - not particularly due to that incident, mind you - I got addicted to Neverwinter Nights again. So getting the not-so-brand-spanking-new 360 today, with good ol' Oblivion as glitchy as it had been, wasn't the great euphoric feeling as one would think. Or maybe I'm comparing it to the feeling when I got the really-brand-spanking-new 360. Eh. Ah, well.

So. Time to drag the 360 and the tiny TV into the comp room, connect to Live, download the patch so Oblivion isn't nearly as fugged up, unplug everything, bring the 360 back up to my room...I wonder if I should risk Shivering Isles again anytime soon...eh. Maybe I'll get tired of Oblivion - wow, surprising, ain't it? ...any case, since my friend Zak won't shut up about it I might as well get Guitar Hero...I'll probably suck like it's never been done before, but hey, 'least it's a change from sucking terribly at Halo, ha..

BURN! BURN! BURN! (And a bit of a more sobering note)

Well, coming back from vacation I had a strange new craving for playing the Sims 2. I dunno. And strangely enough, it's usually more for the construction aspect than the destruction/torment of virtual beings. Last few times I've played, occasionally I'll go all out, use the motherlode cheat and build like crazy. A couple months later, I think, "What the heck was I thinking???" then cut all the ridiculous balconies and whatnot out, make them slightly more realistic. In the end? Y'know, I don't know. Maybe if Geometry hadn't become such a pain in the ass and if I ever acquired the patience, maybe I could make a decent architect? Ha, fat chance.

...in other news...yeah, how about that Virgina Tech massacre. Just what we need comin' back from Easter. Some maladjusted person flipping out and killing a whole lot of people. Does a lot of good for the sane maladjusted ones, doesn't it. ...still, condolences and prayers to all the victims. Putting it as briskly as that I know sounds a little unsympathetic, but really, how much difference is that or a two-hour speech with the same themes gonna make in the end?

Easter Vacation

Mainly this is just to notify anyone wondering where I am. Family trip from April 5th to around April 12th. Oughta be fun. Particularly the long drive part. Heh.

R.I.P. or POS?

Soo...downloaded Shivering Isles two nights ago. Originally the game would only crash during gameplay after around half an hour. Restarting the thing, often the 360 start-up thing didn't even fully run, or I'd get the red ring. Today and yesterday...pretty much ANYTHING involving the hard drive? Music? Games? Screwed up. Haven't gotten past the screwing-up-ness enough to try clearing the cache..but...fully-plugged in and all...

...dammit! It didn't even last a year!

McWarrior! NOOO!!!

Well. Thanks to a slight slip of the finger I ended up saving over my Level 40, 120+ hour Fighter character. ...you can imagine I kinda freaked out. ...then again, the achievements are still there...guess I won't be going into Shivering Isles friggin' godlike...ah, well. *sniff* Just electronic achievement, right?
