@NickAnguiano: for the recond "PC guys" is not in reference to PC fanboys lol. I'm saying you are one of these pathetic super intense political correctness guys that actually just bullies the hell out of people they, in their head, believe are bullying.
@akassassin11: No sane person would go drop hard earned cash on a relatively top of the line gaming computer and then just decide "im not using this anymore, im going to go and spend even more money on a inferior piece of hardware." forget your stupid fanboy crap for 5 seconds and just think about that situation. Nobody does that. That makes zero sense. Not because PCs are better than consoles anything like that, but because financially that makes zero sense lol. You don't have to be a computer fanboy to agree that is a pretty stupid decision and a massive waste of money, how about just buy a console and save like $1500 then? Also you, akassassin11, have already assumed pooya_d to be far stupider than I ever did so congratz on insulting the person you supposedly came to the defense of lol. I actually assumed pooya_d WAS NOT an idiot that would go out and buy a top of the line computer and then just decide he was over it and go and spend even more money on a console. What I assumed is seriously the most likely and understandable thing. That it wasn't going to be a simple act of upgrading one little piece of hardware to make his computer gaming ready and so either due to financial reasons or just being frustrated with the computer gaming scene, he opted to get a console. Some people just enjoy the chiller and simpler experience and not having to worry about "oh is my rig gonna be able to play this" and if he is happy with that, more power to him. Seriously is almost word for word what I said. @akassassin11 i just want ya to know I strongly believe you should be reported for abuse for that response. You seem like one of these sad PC guys that enjoys feeling better about himself by bullying other people for bullying, freggin' hypocrite. The only person that insulted the living **** out of pooya_d was you. You called him stupid, I did not. You called him lower class, I most certainly did not. You also called him poor, all I said was due to financial reasons (that doesn't mean im calling him poor, that can mean a ton of different things.. you're the one immediately assuming it's poor shaming so what does that say about you?) How about you try having some respect for YOUR fellow human beings you pathetics hypocrite.
@squall_83: I think i7s are like 4 actual cores and 4 virtual cores. I think only the super nice i7s have 6 or 8 cores. I believe they are even called "i7 extreme" or something.
@pooya_d: You say you just quit playing PC literally yesterday. Out of curiosity, what was your rig? It'd be easy enough for you to lie, but just saying if your computer had 5+ year old parts in it I would not classify yourself as a PC gamer that JUST quit either. Just using deduction, that almost has to be the case or something like it because for instance... if you had a gaming computer that was maybe a year or two old tops, you wouldn't be retiring it and just putting that investment to waste... Frankly that would be a stupid decision for several reasons so I can't imagine that's the case. Your computer just must be pretty old , old enough perhaps that you probably were in a position where you needed to just purchase a whole new computer (new motherboard and processor etc.) Either out of frustration of financial reasons, you couldn't make that kind of investment into your gaming habit now so you got a console. Hey man, some people just prefer a simpler experience and that's fine. More power to ya.
Damn man.. I just saw that the PS4 only has a 1.6 Ghz processor inside it and the Xbox one has an even slower one. I never bothered looking that up before, but to give people that don't know some kinda comparison... I bought some cheap $220 desktop that was basically just for browsing the internet and storing photos at Walmart like 5 or 6 years ago, and I remember even that computer had a 2.8 Ghz processor. My current gaming computer uses a 3.6 Ghz processor and I would say that's a little on the low end for a gaming computer because I don't overclock at all. Processor speed is probably like the 2nd or 3rd most important think when it comes to game performance. It just really shows me PC gaming and console gaming are two completely different worlds because I don't even know if you can even buy processors for your computer that are that slow anymore. Meanwhile in the console world, I am guessing they gamble on like 90% of consumers not even knowing what they are buying.
@Berserk8989: OK buddy... it's widely known that the consoles have roughly the equivalent GPU to an nvidia GTX 950 (or gtx 570 sc if you wanna refer back to when the consoles actually came out). That was even printed on this website. You don't need to take my word for it lol. Just see how well you can run Doom or most next gen games for that matter with that kind of hardware. You can run it kinda... for Doom for instance you have to set to low-medium settings (mostly low) and downscale the resolution to 900p to maintain 60 fps a majority of the time. I know this from personal experience because I just had to get my GTX 980 repaired in an RMA service and in the meantime, I was using a brand new GTX 950 to game so I could at least use my computer. Stop lying to yourself to justify your console purchase. I don't even dislike consoles lol, I happen to love Uncharted 4, but I don't kid myself about either console having even a fraction of the power that PCs currently do.
@AndreGreen3000: Seriously man, there are almost laws that very smart people have made from the fields of like economics and computer science that have to do with how technology in computers keeps growing at what rate and like how much memory an average computer might need at a particular time and as I understand it, a lot of that stuff has mostly held up. My point is that technology is always improving. When the super nintendo came out with Star Fox (first 3d console game ever), PCs had been playing 3D games for a while. When the PS3 and XBOX 360 came out and bragged about being able to play games in 720p and sometimes 1080p, PCs had been playing games at that resolution for years already and even higher resolutions like 1440p. When the PS4 and XBOX one came out, they still honestly have trouble even maintaining a game at 1080p which frankly I find embarrassing since the previous console generation could already do that meanwhile, PCs can do 4K gaming now and have had VR for a while now. So... when you say "wait til the PS4 NEO comes out and it will crush PCs!" lol considering Nvidia just launched their new line of video cards like a week ago, I don't think PC technology is slowing down at all. I'd be interested in when Sony launches a console that can actually do 4K gaming, because that must mean PCs will be like the Animus out of Assassin's Creed at that point lol.
@zerofrust: To be fair, there are plenty of idiots on the PC master race side too. Like people that drop $2000-$3000 to set up their rig with triple SLI or crossfire. So very few games are even designed with SLI or crossfire in mind and actually will lose performance if played on a rig with an SLI setup vs just one GPU. Biggest reason for that though isn't even optimization, It's that VIDEO MEMORY DOESN'T STACK!!!!! It never has. So when you SLI 3 GTX 980s for instance and think you are taking advantage of all 12GB of video RAM that would be, you actually are only ever using 4GB of video RAM at most. The fact that you added like $1300+ more in video cards does very little for you.
