Gamespot Vs. IGN

I'm a big fan of both Gamespot and IGN, they both have good communities and do good reviews of top games, but sometimes IGN just gets on my nerves. Not because of their editors or anything like that, but because of their comments section.

There's sometimes it works just fine, but it's frustrating when I click on the text box to try to type a comment and it won't let me even though I'm signed in. Even when I click "Reply", the text box opens up, but it won't let me type anything.

Also, sometimes when I'm logged into IGN, there are times when It won't load my profile pic on one page, but it will on another..

So with that said, I think Gamespot is slightly better than IGN.

Rest In Piece Again, My Dreamcast

Since my last blog post, my has died again, this time for good. I was able to find another Dreamcast at my local resale shop, Game Xchange, for $25 so I can still play my DC games.

The only thing that sucks about it is that my Dreamcast that died was a rare Sports Package edition. However, maybe I can now customize the look of my new DC by taking the black casing off of the dead DC and puting it on the new one, making it have a black body with white controller ports!

My Dreamcast is live again!

I managed to figure out how to fix my Sega Dreamcast! For about a year it had a problem where it would randomly restart. I thought I was going to have to buy another Dreamcast until I found a video on youtube of a guy that was having the same problem.

To fix the random restart problem, first make sure you have these items:
Phillips-head screwdriver.
Wet wipes.
Napkins or soft toilet paper.
Anti-static pads to prevent static electricity or at least a wrist band to keep yourself grounded.

What to do:
First, flip the system upside down and remove the modem/broadband adapter so that you can get to the hidden screw.

Remove the 3 other screws.

Gently flip the system back over and lift the top half of the casing off.

From there, remove the 2 screws from the power source and unplug the white wires.

Gently lift it out of it's placement.

Use the wet wipes to clean the prongs then use the napkin to dry the prongs off. Make sure they are completely dry.

Gently put the power source back in and plug the white wires back into the power source.

Screw the power source back down then plug the system in and turn it on to see if it works.

If it's working, turn it back off, un-plug it, finish putting it back together, and prepare to enjoy your Dreamcast again!

Now with both my Dreamcast and my PC being fixed, the only thing left to do is figure out how to fix my Nintendo Wii. I know that the problem is with the lense not being about to move back and forth, but for some reason it won't spin any disc unless I manually move the lense all the way back. The problem is that after it moves forward, it can't move back on it's own and it stops spinning the disc.

I've got an idea on what to try to fix that, but my younger bro. took it apart to see if he could fix it, but he couldn't find anything that he thaught might be wrong and when he was putting it back together, a plastic piece fell out and neither of us knows where it goes.

My Shape

I've been seeing a lot of fitness games lately and I think after Thanksgiving, I might just neet to pickup 2 or 3 of 'em. I know of 3 of them that I wanna get: Wii Fit, EA Sports Active, & Your Shape.

The main reason I want them is for exorcise, but I also think it would be cool if someday someone were to come out with a Wii game that supported all the perifferals like the Wii MotionPlus, Wii Balance Board, the motion sensing camera that comes with Your Shape, and the little pouch/pocket thing that comes with EA Sports Active.

Speaking of the motion sensing camera that Ubisoft is making, does it use techknolodgy similar to Microsoft's Natal? Or is it not quite that good?

Getting Tired.

I've been a gamer all my life. I mean, I was probably born with an Atari 2600 controller in my hands. I'm now 30 years old and have gone through many of the most popular game systems such as the NES, Sega Genesis, N64, PSX, & Gamecube, but the only one's that I have stuck with to this day are my Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Gamecube, and my Sega Dreamcast (which I just got working again the other day). Between the three consoles and my pc I have about 13 games, but unfortunately I don't have a job right now and I'm starting to get tired of playing the same games over and over again. They are still fun, but I just feel the need to get a new game (even if its just new to me) that represents a genre that I haven't played in a long time. Maybe I'll get Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Bully: Scholarship Edition, or Monster Hunter Tri. I might even get a Dreamcast game like Berserk: Guts' Rage or Shenmue. I'm thinking of trading in my GH 3: Legends of Rock and my GH: Aerosmith, but I would have to go all the way to Fort Smith, Arkansas at Game X-change to do that since the only place that trades games near where I live is Blockbuster and they don't have as big of a sellection. I won't go to Gamestop because they made me mad when I called them about a 50mm triwing screwdriver to repair my Wii. But anyways, I'm just thinking about getting a game in the Action/Adventure genre. Or maybe an RPG. I just want something where my characters can walk or run to new locals. I really want a game that is similar to GTA4 or Halo 3.
