So... guess whose finally a PC gamer?

I am.

After 3 long days of figuring out why the hell my PC wasn't acting right, everything finally came together. First of all, I wan to say - it was not a painless process. It was expensive and headache inducing, and don't let anyone tell you different. Nothings is sadder than getting all excited about putting together your first PC, only for it to not to pass POST on the first power up. Broke my heart.

BUT - getting everything working does give me a sense of pride and power like I've never felt before. My girlfriend was with me the whole way :) Thanks baby. Also thanks to my roommate for his hilarious commentary when I was about two seconds away from shipping the entire thing back.

No, I haven't got one. But I will soon. I thought long and hard about my three choices, and I've decided that the Zune will be the best choice.

The PC I want is very expensive and that money could be better spent on the few games I want to play on 360. That, and after having a few discussion with some PC players, I was put off. They had such an elitist attitude to them - Bleh. It's truthfully disgusting and I don't want to be associated with them - Hell I'm probably doing it just to spite them.

The PS3 on the other hand has alot of games I'm interested in, but without the time to play them they would just be wasted on me. It simple a victim of time - of which I don't have enough of. Perhaps later - I was thinking of buying my younger brother one for next Christmas. He'll surely get more use out of it than I will.

Now the Zune HD, being portable, will not hinder me in any way. I have missed having my music in my pocket on campus (My previous Zune 30GB was damaged while working out - we'll just leave it at that :P) It's an attractive piece of equipment and its what I need most at this moment in time. Something that doesn't get in the way of my studies - they're really starting to pile on. But yeah, so it's Zune HD for me. I'll probably be getting Mass Effect 2 as well and who knows what else.

Actually, that last bit is an actual question. I'm looking to buy 3 games to hold me over until the summer, ME 2 being one of them. So if you have any suggestions, feel free to hit me up!

It's that time of year when I get my refund check from my school (this year it's $1750) that's supposed to go toward buying book and supplies - but that's boring. I've got a few ideas I could do with that money...

1) A new gaming PC. This is the most expensive of all the choices. I'm talking about $800 worth of computer supplies, but it'd be worth it.

2) Zune HD 32GB to replace my broken 30 GB Zune. That's only $300, and boy do I miss having an MP3 player. Plus, who can deny the new Zunes - those things are are sexy...

3) A PS3, also $300. Enough said - PS3 gas some good games and I really wanna hop on the bandwagon.

Yo guys, I'm currently writing a paper for an Architectural History class at my university. I'm also simulteanously working on a studio project. But those are minor details. What's important is that you guys help me become a better architect. Here's the plan...

1) PM me with the video game being referenced and something interesting about the architecture. It can be just a single building or the entire game world. Also include scene spaces or even just plain interesting artistic influences you've noticed.

2) I'll get to work drawing plans, sections, axonometrics and scale models of the buildings I'm sent.

3) When I finish with the details of the building I'll post my work up online complete with synopsis and reference to real world architectural work (if applicable)

Easy, right? Not really... I know I'll be busy with actual schoolwork this entire semester so I'll probably only have time to work on these things over break. Still, I could use the practice. So come on, gamers. Help me out and hopefully learn something about your favorite game worlds.

I've been a member of this board for three years now but heavily procrastinated whenever the notion of creating a profile crept into my head. However, now, I finally felt compelled to do so. I'd also like to point I made my 100th post yesterday! Pretty nice.

I actually frequent the forums alot, I just reserve my posts because doing so in System Wars hardly seems worth the effort.

I'm in college now, in case anyone is wondering. Washington University in St. Louis - Just started freshman year; unfortunately I left my Xbox 360 and Wii with my younger brother back home in Chicago. The Wii, I could have done without, save the endless bliss that is Super Smash Bros. The 360 I really do miss :( My suitemate across the way has one, but it just not the same.

However, I do have a shiny new laptop. It's not built for gaming though, using an Intel 925 integrated graphics card and a 1.83 GHz CPU. Took my about a week to get it run Oblivion, which I've been modding heavily. So much better than the console version, in hindsing. Still, the computer runs some games pretty nicely, such as the Sims, Age of Mythology, Spore ( I hope; getting it Friday) and most Gametap applications, so I don't think I'll be starved for games.

Luckily, I did bring my DS with Age of Empires: Age of Kings, and excellent TBS. I also have Dementium: The Ward, another good one, Pokemon Diamond, again excellent game. And... the Sims 2. Bad choice.

I finished reading the Watchmen Comic yesterday as well, to get excited for the movie. A wonderful piece of literature, I've taken a particular shine to the character Roscarsch; not because of his brutality but rather his absolutism. His role in the end of novel struck me as a surprise. After his charms wear off, I'll like change my profile picture to the Comedian, Adrian Veidt, and Dr. Manhattan respectfully. Each character represents a profound idea; I feel it necessary to commemorate them all.

So, w00t. I'm finally and obviously active on Gamespot. Check out my first revie, it'll be on an old favorite of mine: Phantom Crash for the original Xbox.
