(I'll just copy/paste what I've said on GS article news related to this)

I would rather own my games, and I make the choice rather than the subscription choosing for me. I probably buy 2 or 3 games a month on average, and it's still not for me. Just can't stand rentals unless it's a game I'm not 100% sure it's not going to be good, and it's on Game Pass, that's the time I'll use Game Pass to test out the game, and if it's any good, I'll buy it. I like to support developers that are worth my gaming time, and there are games I've completed and do like to revisit someday.

Game Pass is for gamers who don’t like paying full price and want an affordable option to play games, and there are also gamers on Xbox who like to buy physical copies. I maybe a PC gamer, but I still like seeing physical games being supported for years to come.

I think for Gamepass to be worth it, you have to change your habits, so you don't buy games, only really DLC and you play a lot of different games frequently.

For me, I don't buy games at full price, but I get them digitally on sales or CDKeys. If I like a game, I want to own it. And I don't play a lot of new games.

The only way Gamepass would make sense to me, is if there was a cheaper Xbox Cloud Gaming service. Then I'd be more likely to just jump into random games. But this is only for the most expensive tier. So not super into the idea right now.

Nintendo must think we're stupid.

Oh...

They wouldn't be wrong. Console gamers get milked because they accept this type of BS over and over and over.

Typical post success console. Success seems to breed arrogance in the console industry.

I don't think this is going to work out like the PS2 or PS5. Nintendo are going over board with these prices.

I kind of want it to come out at £100, just as an experiment. Wanna see what will happen and how many fools buy it at that price.

@HalcyonScarlet: Ah I see what's going on here now. You're jealous that PC doesn't get talked about on here like consoles do, never took you for the jelly type lol.

Getting a new console is an event man, midnight launches, new games, get to use a new controller, new features etc, it's all new, humans love new stuff, however getting a new graphics card is like putting news soles into your old shoes, sure it might be more comfy, but it's still the same old shoes.

Bro come on, that's not honest. The tedious console graphics arguments have been going on here since the 6th gen here in SWs, well probably before but that's when I joined (different name). There's nothing "new" console about it. It starts at the beginning of a gen and doesn't bloody end. You don't remember the endless PS3 vs Xbox 360 graphics debates? The bashing the Series X and S got/gets here? Then suddenly everyone's a hardware expert, the ins and outs of MS and Sony's decisions...

I don't mind that it's not spoken about on the PC, I usually make a point to not get involved.

And my philosophy on graphics hardware is a bit different. I've had four graphics cards and none of them high end. GTX 750Ti (amazing starter card at the time), GTX 1060 6G (amazing in general for the time), GTX 1650 (does a good job in my SFF PC) and an RX 7600. I'm not that into the high end cards, they cost way too much anyway.

Spider-Man is over hyped though. As usual PS gamers were like "WOW THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER". Than I like many other played it on the PC and were like "this is it?". It's the PS phenomenon. It's fairly common with a lot of PS games. They hype expectation WAY past reality.

PS hype sells. The PS5 sold out with no games at launch. People "needed" it, they didn't know why. But that aspect doesn't translate to the PC. PC gamers don't see the PS symbol and wet themselves. The games better deliver in reality.

Oh, c'mon man you can't be serious, can you?

Let's stop pretending that Hermits are of a higher standard. For one, Palworld sold like 10 million copies in like a week and it's a shitty a knock off Pokemon game.

Most Hermits are still playing a game that came out 25yrs ago, you know the one i'm talking about.

So, Hermits aren't some magical group of gamers who demand quality and i'll leave you with THIS game that has 3,630 reviews and is rated very positive, Hermits are pretenders, they always have been, they can't even talk a big game.

As for cows getting wet over the latest PS, yes that is true, but Hermits make threads over graphics cards wetting themselves with excitement ffs. And with that I rest my case your honour lol

I didn't say the standards are higher, I said PlayStation games are over hyped. Most other games have their place. And that place is not in the "the best game since sliced bread" category. PlayStation games tend to be hyped way too much.

If you gave me a measured impression of Spider-Man for example, my expectations are measured and I'm more likely to get into it. But when the expectation is too high... It's not about standards it's about expectations.

Btw, I'm that guy playing the ancient games.

How can you rest your case there? Like console gamers don't also get wet over the latest hardware. Also that's not what I mean. I meant the logo. PS logo adds extra excitement points for games, like it magically makes them better than they are.

To me, games are generally all potentially as good as each other, I've never played a PS game that was magically better than anything else I've played. I'll give them credit for graphics though.

Yeah you kinda did, as the bold states. I'm not here to defend Sony or its games because I think most of them are crap, but let's not pretend that Hermits sit atop the gaming universe in regard to quality of games, or have better tastes etc. Sure, Hermits might not get excited over Spiderman but there are plenty of gamers on console (me for one) didn't "wet themselves" over it either. I think you're taking the hardcore cows on here as their entire base which is silly.

Console gamers don't "get wet" (what is it with you and wetness?) over the hardware per se, they get excited because it is a new console, new controller, new games, new features, new generation etc, very different to just a graphics card that you slot into your exciting hardware.

"The games better deliver in reality." Yeah, delivering on expectations. :-S

PLEASE lol, as if we don't endure endless threads arguing the teraflop out of everything. Come on Laps, come on now. Especially considering that outside of quicker loading, there isn't a lot that's new this gen outside of better graphics. But still the endless Xbox Series X verses PS5 threads "my teraflops are better than your teraflops"."YEAH, FIVE FRAMES BETTER ON PS5".

True. GoW is available on GoG. Somebody should make a list of Sony games available on Steam or GOG. Upcoming, as well.

But where do they sell the most, on PC or console?

We keep hearing PC is only growing, has the most gamers etc, but Sony's games still sell more on PS. Take Spiderman for instance, sold over 20 million on PS, sells 1.5 million on PC. And as you may or may not know there are 132 million active users a month on PC, the PS4 only got 117 million sales and yet sold like 10x as many copies.

Hermits talk it up all the time and the sales never stack up.

The PlayStation 5 dominates the hardware market, forcing Microsoft to release their games on PlayStation due to its overwhelming market share. No matter how many hours you spend on this forum or how many threads you post, that fact won't change. In 2025, being a dedicated Xbox platform user is unfathomable madness. Xbox isn't even suited for a side console anymore.

The xbox brand is a failure and it always was.

Not really. In theory you could say best of both on PlayStation. But that's running on the false assumption that ALL PlayStation games are appealing to everyone. They're just not. It's actually perfectly viable to just be an Xbox gamer.

PlayStation exclusives are not so essential, everyone is missing out if they don't have a PlayStation. It's just subjective.

I already find it difficult getting into current gen gaming. And I find PlayStation games no more interesting than anything else.

The fanboy mentality is that PlayStation games are the best thing since slice bread. The problem is, then an outsider plays them expecting a 10 to match the hype because "WOW, PlayStation FANS SAID IT'S THE BEST, AMAZING", and because of the expectation from the hype, the games feel like a 7.

In reality, there's so many games now, it just doesn't matter where you play that much. Xbox, PC, PS, it's fine.

GT7 might have been a good business move for the pc, there a sim market there. If there’s one Sony game which should have gone over, that was probably it.

I’m not thinking of the initial sales but growing a presence in that market.
