Notice that the lack of female workers in the gaming industry is automatically just assumed to be negative. Do you ever hear people talk about the lack of males in any industry, and how to "fix it?" No, you don't.
For example, according to the number of licensed nurses in the US, one statistic says that less than 6% of nurses are men. Do we talk about how to "fix" this "problem?" No, we don't even label it as a problem.
If fewer women than men want to work in the gaming field, that's not a problem, it's a reality. We need to stop this silliness. A lot of these ridiculous articles come from either: A) feminazis, or B) white males.
And yet again, it's another example of straight white male self-imposed guilt. I have no guilt, and feel no need to try to artificially include others. I'm not frightened of the workplace developing a natural gender/racial makeup, and so I feel no need to try to artificially manipulate the gender/racial makeup of any workplace.
The rumors you've heard are true: Windows 8 sucks all-around. It's a terrible desktop PC operating system, and an only slightly less terrible tablet OS.
@Eric8315 Perhaps you've failed to realize that American-made games have widespread, worldwide appeal. Japanese games do as well, but they are diminishing while western developed games, particularly from the US, are thriving.
You picked two series that despite your distaste for them are hugely popular throughout the world. I don't much care for CoD, and I hate the GTA series. Personal distaste is not a measure of worldwide appeal.
@DAOWAce I have to say that it was nothing short of a minor miracle that From Software released a PC version of Dark Souls. They're doing the same for Dark Souls II. It's amazing, really. So few game developers in Japan will even consider the PC, much less put in the full effort and follow-up with a sequel.
You hate him because he's rich? So I suppose if you were to ever fall into millions of dollars, you'd give it all away to charity so that you wouldn't be a rich scumbag? @frylock616
It's always funny when some completely ignorant person in a position of power pretends to know anything about something that they clearly don't.
Anyone who knows anything about gaming knows this woman has no clue what she's talking about. She can handle this situation with all of the finesse of a fish out of water.
Do us all a favor Ms. Feinstein, and shut up. The less she opens her face hole, the more intelligent the US will become.
This sounds like it's a step in the right direction, but I am always a little skeptical of these types of public releases. Sometimes they are an attempt to lull consumers into believing that everything will be better. Time will tell. I'll give them plenty of room to grow into a respectable gaming company.
It is sad, however, that EA has had such a long history of killing off wonderful game franchises and talented game studios in the interest of meeting game deadlines. It is nigh impossible for me to forgive EA for turning the last couple games of the Ultima series into somewhat of a joke. Not only a betrayal of all of the loyal Ultima fans, but they took one of the most iconic, longest-lasting, most influential gaming series of all time -- and destroyed it.
