Speak my mind... seriously?! Gamespot Censorship!

Ha, the irony! Gamespot invites me to "start my blog, speak my mind." Obviously this does NOT apply to their forums as well, since 2 of my measly 7 posts have been censored for "spamming" and "trolling." Now, I do not sell any products nor run any kind of commercial website so I have NO idea what I could possibly be "spamming," (nor do I understand how a single post can be spamming anyhow) and so far as trolling goes, if one need only spark a mild, non-offensive debate to be accused of "trolling," then color me guilty.

Tell you what, I'll let you be the judge of me. Following is my entire post about the trailer for the upcoming Star Trek Online MMO. This was posted in response to mostly negative posts by other viewers, none of whom have even played the actual game as it's not even in release yet.

I did not single out any other posters by name or directly insult any individual. I did not post any obvious rhetoric or ridiculous dogma in order to incite a flame war, I simply stated MY OPINION about the comments which preceded mine, comments I viewed to be based on knee-jerk reactions and without merit. Anyhow, feel free to comment on my post, give your honest opinion, I'll not flood your email box if you weigh against me. If more than 33% of the respondents (a very fair number, I would think) feel I was "trolling," then I will concede to nolo contendere and let Gamespot's assessment stand. If the 2/3 majority agree with me, well, then it will be made very clear the forums are patrolled by a ruthless Nazi-like regime, intent on squashing any independant thought and expression within their voluntary ranks.

THE Post:

"Wow, the haters really came out today, are you all really going to base your opinion of a game on a 2:22 trailer? Do a little reading elsewhere, do a little research before you go blasting away in ignorance.

Good graphics do not make a good game, I've had SO much fun in games with so-so graphics, and a lousy time in the best graphically presented games, so who CARES if the graphics aren't state-of-the-art? This will also let the game run better on a wider range of PC's, which can invite a much larger player base.

Yes, Cryptic is planning on porting this game to consoles, nothing firm on which consoles yet, but that is the plan and it has been part of the plan all along.

No, I'm not an STO fanboy, I just get really irked when people chew up and spit out any game before they've even tasted it. I have never played WoW, but I can't stand the WoW-blasters, 75% of whom have never even tried it, I'm sure. If 11 million (or more) people play it, how terrible could it be?

No, this isn't quite the STO I was hoping for but I think if we put our preconceived notions aside, this could still be a lot of FUN! Yes, I'm also greedily awaiting SW:TOR."
