I'm not sure if there was too much to do or if there simply wasn't enough variety, but I was bored with FC3 before I beat it 100%. FC3 was gorgeous and the campaign was rather fun (I could've done with less Valley kids and more Vaas) but all of the side activities had me bored out of my mind. They needed more of the trippy "FC3's theme is Madness" content throughout the world. Basically the first island held me and by the time I reached Island 2 I was ready to quit.
Nevertheless, looking forward to FC4. Hope they're smart and stick with the Tropical theme instead of doing something stupid like going back to a colorless African Ghetto and giving us Malaria again. FC2 was just awful because of that.
@analogjunkie24 @DarkReign2552 Didn't say you did, but a lot of people will disagree with my statement. You hate QTE. I hate turn-based RPGs. Does that make them bad? No. Just means they're not for us.
@analogjunkie24 I've never actually understood what's wrong with QTE gameplay? It's no better or worse than turn-based combat, taking cover to heal, heavily-scripted gameplay, spawn loadouts, stats stacking, etc... It's an advantageous element of a specific genre of games that many people, myself included, highly enjoy. Shenmue wouldn't have been half the game it was without QTE. And Resident Evil 4? The Knife Fight with Krauser is still hailed as one of the greatest scenes in videogame history and that, along with the laser grid that followed it, was strictly QTE-based.
@CptJohnnyRico @DarkReign2552 @bruno_fmenedes I'm starting to think you're upset because you're "$60 movie" is too complicated and you can't figure out how to beat one of the levels. Take a deep breath and be sure to analyze your environment for context clues.
@CptJohnnyRico @DarkReign2552 @Anthony_Zombo @hector530 Funny. Pretty sure I still picked up a controller and used the analog and face-buttons to directly control my character and influence the environment around me. Last time I check, that still defined as a videogame.
@bruno_fmenedes @CptJohnnyRico It's not like this is even a new genre. The Japanese have had Eroge and Bishoujo for I don't know how long. Dating Sims, Virtual Novels, etc... It's no different except in the content we're being given (And as a personal fan of anime and the likes, I really wish Eroge and Bishoujo would start getting more support in the West.
@HAMMERCLAW Amen. Naughty Dog and Quantic Dream are the two companies that single-handedly keep me coming back to the Playstation. As a primary Xbox gamer, if Uncharted, Last of Us, Beyond, and Heavy Rain had been on the 360, I wouldn't own a PS3. Period. Even if just Heavy Rain and Beyond showed up, I would suffer the loss and do without the PS3 anyway. I literally went out and bought my PS3 two years ago because I wanted to own Heavy Rain and I heard Beyond was on the way.
