Couple of years, but I never did any hardcore playing at any point. No more than a few hours a week tops.
DahlVaughnni's forum posts
I looked over all of the forum categories for a few minutes before deciding that this one is the most appropriate to post in since there are no general Tech forums.
My controller seems to be malfunctioning a little. It's very sensitive to the left side and elss sensitive to the right. What I mean by that is, it's harder to make a character go right than it does left, like you have to push a little further. Also, sometimes after going left and letting go of the joystick, it doesn't always reset to neutral, but instead continues to walk slowly to the left. This is especially noticable while playing Arkanoid from the arcade. Oftentimes after moving left to hit the ball, the slider will continue to move to the left even after I let go of the joystick and it messes with me.
So there're two possibilities that I can think of: A) The joystick is busted, which I don't see why it would be, it's been fine until recently. or B) It's somehow "off balance" and needs to be adjusted. Is there some way to fix this? I seem to recall my gamecube controller doing something similar, and if you turn the gamecube on while holding a certain button combination, it automatically recalibrates the controller to neutral.
Any helpful advice would be great, this is a real bummer.
Its something I've been really noticing, I truly bought a Nintendo Wii because I always love the first party games that they send out to us, Mario, Zelda, etc. Even glimpses at their third party developers like Red Steel and Rayman, even though Red Steel somewhat tanked, I didn't know that at the time. I didn't really look at the graphics, I rather have great story-driven experiences.
Now people always say in arguments and debates about the Wii and another console is that ... "Oh!11 graphics don't matter, itz all about gameplay". Well now there's talks about a new WiiHD (successor of the Nintendo Wii) and people are like "Oh!1 i hope the wii gets HD this time".
Not only this example, I've seen this sort of hypocracy in many others situations. Its been something that I just wanted to let out, its been on my chest for a bit.
I love my Nintendo Wii for what it is, all the features and games it offers currently make it a fine addition to have in your household as a console. I'm proud that I have one. I really could care less if the Wii goes into an enhancement as long as they still give us the hardcore titles that I want. (Mario, Zelda, Starfox, Kirby, etc.)

Wii owners do care about visuals, what they're trying to say is that they aren't basing their choice in spending money on graphics. That doesn't mean they don't LIKE good graphics.
That's like punishing wii owners for buying component cables for progressive scan. I can see where you're coming from, but I think you're exaggerating it a bit too much.
I would however love to see a kirby game, and a new f-zero, and I'm dying for the new metroid game.

He was talking about REAL games. Deblob is a perfect example of the low quality games that gwar is trying to get across to you guys. It's irritating how all of these no-name games that only 10 year olds, or 50 year olds will buy.
I agree with OP completely. The wii is useless beyond the bigname mario zelda and metroid games. How about a mana game? (one that isn't trash. Secret of mana quality, not Dawn of mana quality). A final fantasy game (besides echoes). The next metroid game, zelda, Baten Kaitos, F ZERO ANYONE? Fire emblem.
You know, a game that you actually LIKE, rather than a game you force yourself to like because it builds your brain or makes you fit.
Err...if it's low quality, why is everyone who's got it saying how amazing it is? *confused*
Look at castle crashers. many consider it better than anything that you can buy in a $60 case. It was made with flash.
point and case
oh for the love of god some people are never happy, they complain nintendo fail them and no showing of "core" games so nintendo shows them albeit later than we hope but showed them none the less and might i add these are new games, and now you are still complain jeezeblack_ice23
Engrish prease.

lol at the guy above, you no nothing about tvs, you should NEVER sit by any tv really but the bearable ones to sit by are plasma, crt and Dlp, i think lcd are the worst when right by them, you can see the pixels wether on plasma its more fuzzy but still bearable at least. lol learn your facts man. and dont argue back i know this stuff im an isf calibrator and i also repair tvs for a living.xXXGODFATHAXXx
"you no nothing" proves you aren't involved in any sort of profession. Read a book before you make an arguement.
Anyone who disagrees with my post is just plain wrong, I'm sitting next to a 46" LCD tv right now. Looking at it from the side is as clear as looking at a poster from the side, there is no diminished picture quality. I don't care what you, or any tv specs say, I know what I am looking at RIGHT NOW.
I have had this tv for quite awhile now, and there are no burn-ins, and everything is as it was when it was brand new.
You can do all the research you want on TVs, but if I can see plain as day what I am backing up here, then there's no arguement you can possibly come up with to wrong me. I'm looking at the proof, I am right and you are wrong. Sorry.
Who knows? maybe not all LCDs are like this, but this is a couple of years old, so I'm sure you can pick it up for pretty cheap by now, and functions perfectly with a 180 degree viewing angle, crystal clear, burn-in free, and is even immune to direct sunlight hampering the image, each pixel automatically adjusts so that you get a clear consistent image.
Try looking at an LCD before you rave about how great plasma TVs are. Plasma is trash.
