Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls

Wow. I don't think the reviewer here on Gamespot played the game enough. He lists, as a con, that there is no auto-map feature. That is completely false. All one needs to do is buy the level specific map from the store and presto, auto-mapping! I should feel a little bit of pity for him though. There is no rulebook and no tutorial to this game. Still, if one talks to the innkeeper about Rumors, she'll suggest buying a map before starting out.

Wizardry: LoLS must be daunting for beginners. The reason why I can play it with ease is because the gameplay is exactly like Cl@$$ of Heroes for the PSP. That game took me a long while to figure out. Things like: buying a map from the store to enable auto-mapping, using the healer cl@$$ to identify/appraise objects, and that one can essentially re-roll one's bonus for stats if they leave and then return to the character creation screen. These games are pretty hard to get into if one is just starting out and admittedly, the game is pretty niche. Not too many people like first-person dungeon crawlers anymore. But I'm having fun with it. 8/10
