Violence - a widely discussed issue and this subject is brought under attention a lot these days. Parents are always complaining about violence in movies and especially in video games. Some game developers take a lot of heat from so-called concerned parents and crazy people like Jack Thompson (link1 , link2). They say it has a desensitising effect, but it doesn't make much sense to me because I've played loads of games with violence and I'm not so sure I understand what they mean?
My views on violence that it is a part of each and every one of us. I don't think it can be thought of as either good or bad. Violence/aggressiveness is a very vital part of human nature and is in the very essence of our survival instinct. We humans simply wouldn't be here today if our ancestors(thousands of years back) didn't have the guts to kill wild animals for food or defend themselves against a pack of hungry wild wolves.
So, what do you think about this "violence" thing?
