So I think I may be one of the TWO "Veronica Mars" fans that DIDN'T watch the season premiere on the 26th. And I have been flogging myself every day since. What can I say? I had school, and homework and..."House"! I have a cold so I went home early from school today. I kinda like high school. I don't have a lot of friends. I think I watch the most television of anyone I know. I joined the Anime Club though. I'm not a super Anime freak, but it's a club. I wanted to join the creative writing club or the philosophy club, but it was too late for poor Carolynn. I should post here more often. Maybe I could make some tv.com friends. So anyway. Enought about me. Let's talk tv! Ha.
So, this season has been a little disappointing for me, as far as new shows go. I love "Heroes" and "Studio 60" is a close second. I think that the "Heroes" pilot is exactly what a pilot should be with the right blend of character development and plot. My parents thought it moved a little too slow, but then again, they are more into thrillers like "Prison Break"...and I don't like them as much. They aren't mentally stimulating enough for me. I have also been keeping up with "Studio 60". I am far too young to have seen anything else by Aaron Sorkin (I like to watch shows from the begining, which is why I am into cancelled shows I can get on DVD, and newer stuff) so this was a first for me, and let me say, I really liked it. I won't say that this is love, but there is a friendship in the making (ha. I think of shows as my friends. I really AM lonely!). So, NBC and I are getting pretty close.
ABC. I don't like them as much anymore. They were good to me last year, except for "Desperate Housewives"...ew...BUT! I am staying with the big ones... ("Lost", "Grey's Anatomy", and "Desperate Housewives"...even though I still don't trust "Desperate Housewives", not after last season). As for new shows. I MISSED "Help Me Help You", which I DID want to see...so I'll have to keep my eye out for that one. And "Ugly Betty" was fair. I liked it more than "Six Degrees", which I found a tad bit disappointing. I am crossing my fingers for "The Nine"...There are so very many rip-offs of "Lost" this year. It makes me have a frowny face. :( See? OH! And "Daybreak"! I don't know HOW but I will see it. So far, ABC has been an afterthought.
I won't say very much about FOX except for WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? "Happy Hour"? "Standoff"? "Til Death"? I watched every episode of "Til Death" (cause there is nothing on daytime television and I am sick)...enough "Standoff" (I stuck around for Gina Torres...and a little for Ron Livingston), and I saw the pilot of "Happy Hour" right here. Nothing. Not a grin. Not a chuckle. Nothing. Lame. Wait, I DID laugh *at* "Standoff".
CBS is, well CBS. I don't watch a lot there. I might catch a CSI here and there..."Jericho" is a tad bit mediocre. It isn't what I expected. I am religiously watching "How I Met Your Mother"...I can't watch "The New Adventures of Old Christine" cause of that stupid Emmy thing (plus it isn't very funny), BUT I have been keeping up with "The Class" which has been getting better...
I haven't watched a single new show from the CW...but I love the returning ones, of course. "Gilmore Girls" was funny, but with the sad-ness; I am a Luke/Lorelei fan. I've started Netflixing "Smallville" (and "Scrubs", but that is different)...I kinda like it. I didn't think I would, but I do. It's kind of slow, but I live. I tried out "Girlfriends", but I didn't like it. Maybe I'm just really picky. Or this year just hasn't been what I thought it would be in mid-July. Okay. I think I'm done. This is a fairly long post for me...
