Probably would've been much better as a Wiiware game. Only for the Pokemon hardcores.
However,it doesn't have enough elements to make it viable to buy, especially for someone who's not much of a hardcore or worse:doesn't have DP,PT or HGSS.Because, the game's pretty much worthless without a 4th Gen Pokemon Game.
For a hardcore, meanwhile,it'll be a bit different. Some might like it for the graphics, which makes the battles a lot more visually interesting, compared to 2D battling(personally,I find this to be a big deal and major selling point for me),others for the online mode, where you CAN just battle anyone, without needing FC(though, you can still get them),some for the interesting challenges proposed in the game to test you Trainer's skills or for the exclusive pokemon.
Character customization is also a big plus for me.But that's my personal opinion.
Pros:
+Nice graphics
+Interesting gameplay options
+Unlockable secret Pokemon
Cons:
-The game has no worth if you don't already own a Gen.4 Pokemon game on DS
-No minigames from Pokemon Stadium
-Not as flashy as the trailer suggested.
-Not enough customization features.
-Most alternate game styles are single-player only.
As I said,I would've gave it a 8 or a 9 if it was a Wiiware game.It just doesn't have enough to be worth buying.
And not the best game to initiate someone to Pokemon
