Fans of the series will be in for a treat for Persona 4 Arena and newcomers to fighting games is an easy game to learn
The main story isn't that huge as the original story but takes places two months after the events have occurred in Inaba, Yu makes a return visit to seeing his friends but suddenly the Midnight Channel has appeared once again started taking people inside their TV's. And are all forced into a fight tournament with against their friends and rivals.
Persona 4 Arena was made by the same team that made 2D Fighting games such as BlazBlue and Guilty Gear, Arc Systems works know how to make a good standout 2D fighting game and of course a mix of Atlus works on its story and franchise for the Persona series. With 13 characters to choose from both the main characters from Persona 4 and 3 characters to choose from Persona 3. Each character you'll play will have their own moves and attacks if you're familiar with the BlazBlue series.
You can use your own Persona's to attack your opponents by tapping and press either Triangle or Circle. Square is your main attack when it comes to fighting more you attack you can fill up a gauge which can lead to pull of some critical attacks and combos. The X button is also another combo attack you'll be likely to use to attack and plus looking at the command list for each of the characters it is a simple and easy fighting game for anyone to follow.
There is a main story to play through where you can experience each of the characters story as they enter the TV world. As a fan of the series you may find the story a little bit of a drag but still can be an enjoyable experience. Arcade mode and Score Attack have been added in if you want to put your skills to the test, training and lessons are provided too if you want to learn how to pull of moves and attacks. Playing other players online can be the fun part for both gamers and fans of the series, I've actually spent at least a good two hours playing a few online battles which can be fun and addictive, whichever character you choose they'll have their own level and rank, but however the more matches you play you'll rank up from F all the way up to the top of the online ranks.
With it being a 2D fighting game you just got to love the Anime/Sprite animations they have used for Persona 4 Arena including the Persona's you'll be using and plus the environments and areas you'll see in the background look like moving paintings set in a modern day world based in Japan. You do have the option to change the voicing from both English to Japanese all actors that did most of the voices in Persona 3 and 4 do make a return in Persona 4 expect for Chie and Teddie who are both voiced by two different people for both Persona 4 Golden and the Anime series.
Yet another thing that fans will enjoy the most about Persona 4 Arena is that the soundtrack is once again composed by Shoji Meguro this is a real treat for the fans with a mix of both new and old music from both Persona 3 and 4, you could easily listen to most of the soundtrack all day if you wanted to.
Clearing the main story can take a few hours to clear but it can more fun when it comes to online matches or playing it on Arcade, trophy support is added in too if you want to collect trophies. It might not be great as the original story but still has a lot to offer for its fans and to gamers who love fighting games and an easy fighting game to learn.
