Machines vs Androids

User Rating: 9 | NieR: Automata PS4

Great storytelling with novel-worthy writing and moving plot will keep you replaying this game several times until it's final conclusion. SF theme might not be for everyone but it's really well done with elements both post apocalypse and cyberpunk. Fluid yet rewarding combat system which can be a challenge on higher difficulties is complimented with fast paced hacking games that will surprisingly never get boring. Most characters are excellently done with great English voice overs. Upgrade system is completely original and full of great choices. Numerous side quest, multiple endings and several playable characters. Collectors and hoarders will certainly be please with the amount of thing to do, collect and achieve. Music is good and I enjoyed it. On the down side: While character models are fine environmental graphic is just extremely poor. PS2 level poor. And it's a shame since many locations seem to be very nice but are somewhat ruined by atrocious textures. Half conversations in the game are not voiced. While this mainly relate to side quests it's a bit disappointing to see in a game with such potential. Also, some of those side-quests are just poorly done. I'm talking about backtracking and fetch quests. This should really be skipped in this day and age.

And while I assume issues of graphic and voice-over are budget related they still exist and this is why this game can't be 10. I was somewhere between 8-9 and opted for 9 as 8 really seem a but low for an intricate game like this. I fully recommend it.
