This is an excellent remake of what is arguably one of the greatest games of its original time, and the remake definetly holds its own in this day and age. There are so many good thing about this game, but the one factor that makes this a classic is the storyline. The twists and turns of the government conspiracy thriller plot almost make you forget about the horrible gamplay that comes with the franchise. It was interesting to play through the game. I realized that I used to put up with the over-head camera, and constantly looking at my self from the front as I move back when video games were still growing, and forming. The addition of the stand-still first person mode is great, up until the point where you realized how good the game looks, and how cool it would play through the first-person perspective. The cut-scenes, which are the driving force behind the plot have been updated, and expanded. There are awesome. This is one of the main reasons I play the metal gear games. I'm a cutscene fan myself. Ahhhh..... the CODEC. So much of the plot is shown through cutscenes, but there is also a portion which is all dialogue appearing through a wanne-be video conference of sub-NES quality. This can be overlooked, and is nostalgic in some ways. ALl in all I am very glad I played this game, and had forgotten most of the plot which made it that much better. If you like good plots, custscenes, sneakers, government conspiracies.... etc. This is a game you should definetly GameFly, if not purchase (through GameFly :)
