How did something with so much of a good thing get so bad?
The first level, which begins on the attack on Pearl Harbour, was great. Running through a battleship during the attack. This level was fun, smart and real. Something that NONE of the rest of the game has. But one thing that the first level has that the rest of the game has in common is it's length. It felt short, not filling and asking for more. What am I trying to get with this? How boring this game is.
After the attack at Pearl, the game thrusts you into the jungles of the Phillipines, the jungles of Guadacanal, the jungles of Singapore...Are you getting the picture? I did so many jungle levels I forgot it was WWII. The load times didn't help either. They felt like loading 1/4 of Grand Theft Auto. I never felt like I was avenging Pearl Harbour. To make it worse, the A.I. were terrible. They never hit me unless they did a melee attack. The level design was boring and the levels (espeically the jungle ones) was so repeditive that I got lost mre than once.
The multi-player was needing work. I don't understand why. It has all of the pieces for a good multi-player: Online, Four player Splits-screen, Optional A.I. Players different levels and skins. Oh, yes. It's because The online is limited, Four player feels boring, the A.I. are just as dumb as Single-player, the levels suck and the different characters are plain ugly.
No matter what way you put it, I found RS to be fun for about 10 minutes. If you have money to burn, and your eye is icthing toward the bargin bin, this game is yours. But really, I expect more from EA.
