So much harder and serious bro..
Pros [+]
- New 'Boing' jumping which is really fun and colourful
- Can choose whichever Roco you want at the start (no unlocks)
- Multiplayerrrrrrrr
Cons [-]
- Constant threats (spikey bushes, pitholes. A lot of things hurt you)
- Only 16 levels
- Directed more at a serious 'trial and error' gamer where when you reach the end you get satisfaction (kinda like Prinny)
- Less childish which it was actually praised for with its simplicity and bright scene
Probably the worst thing about this game is that there's so many things that can make you lose one of your Rocos and restart the level. Such as gaps across to bits of ground where if you're not careful, you could accidently land inbetween and fall to your doom. You then start all the back at the start, or pay to go back to a checkpoint at halfway which is actually pretty queer.
Not sure about other players, but I always try to get most if not all the fruit on the level and when I get hurt and lose one then I feel as though I have to restart so that I complete the level perfectly which is REALLY annoying because you'll be seeing the GAME OVER message so many times that it'll make you sad.
The original Locoroco games (1,2) were packed with so much childish fun that you couldn't help love it. The new Midnight Carnival is directed at more serious gamers I guess, where you'll have to restart levels over and over again. This actually reminds me of the N+ game where you have to avoid all those traps and get to the end.
