The only good zombie is a dead zombie!

User Rating: 9.5 | Left 4 Dead X360
Left 4 Dead is arguably the most brilliant game out there. You play as a close-knit group of "Survivors", making your way through four wildly different campaigns on a quest to survive. With 50 Achievements and a thriving multiplayer base, there is little to no reason to not play Left 4 Dead. And this is why. First off, is the suspense. Hunters jump out at you from the shadows, Boomers spit bile and try to blind you, hordes of zombies jump towards you trying to eat your face... the world of L4D is not for the squeamish. Each of the four campaigns offer massive replayability, mainly due to the games system of "The Director". This pretty much means that every time you go through a campaign, the Survivors will say different things, weapons will be placed in new areas, and dialogue will change. This is an ingenius method of replayability, thus making it much more than your standard run and gun. I went through "Death Toll" about 30 times, and each playthrough was wildly different. If you can only afford one game for a few months and want an FPS to last you, this is an ideal choice. Multiplayer is also a work of genius, with Team 1 trying to complete a campaign and Team 2 being the zombies! Each of the zombie classes offer change: if you play as a Boomer, you are essentially the suicide bomber of zombies. Trying to puke on survivors and exploding is hillarious, and the Smoker is for crafty players: drag survivors with your tongue and let the horde beat them to death. The Hunter is another stealthy type, relying on puncing and ripping apart a lone survivor. On the rare occassion one gets to play as Tank, it's the best thing since old-school Halo. For Xbox gamers, zombie lovers, and lead pumpers, this is the game of the year. If it wasn't for a few glitches, this would be a 10 out of 10. But don't let the .5 points taken off scare you away: but it.
