A really fun zombie shooter

User Rating: 8.5 | Killing Floor PC
Alright so we've all probably been familiar with zombie games like L4D and nazi zombies. Killing Floor is pretty different from the others, yet it's also sipmle. This game is pretty amazing for the small price of 20$. First of all, it's pretty much a game about a squad of British people that have been dispatched to kill all the zombies in the map.

The game supports dedicated servers and holds up to 6 players on a regular game. The objective of the game is to wipe out all of the zombies in waves up to the final wave to defeat the boss. After each wave, you gain money according to how much damage you've done to all the zombies that round. You can spend that money to buy guns, armor, etc. at the trader shop which pops up randomly around the map after every round. There are also 6 perks/classes to choose from. The max level you can reach for each perk is lvl 6.

Berserker - Melee Class

Support Specialist - Shotgun/Door Welder Class

Medic - Healing Class

Commando - Assault Rifle Class

Demolition - Grenade/Explosives Class

Firebug - Flamethrower Class

Every class gains a bonus advantage to the guns associated with it and it's pretty cool. You can level up those perks and gain bonuses like 10% decrease in recoil or 20% increase in bullets per clip. The number of weapons vary from M32 grenade launchers to katanas, fire axes, SCAR's, AK's, dual deagles, etc. All weapons can be iron sighted (Except melee weapons) Tripwire really knew how to add the fun guns into the game. The feel of the shots feel powerful and it's pretty satisfying.

The graphics are decent and they aren't anything to complain about. The voice acting is pretty good in my opinion although I guess some other people dislike it. The maps are really good and very well designed. It's strategic enough that you can weld doors and figure out where to hold with your group or you can be a solo person and risk running around with a katana.

The game is also moddable. There are custom maps out there to play if your bored of the original maps and usually they are pretty fun. You can create your own maps with the Killing Floor SDK that it comes with.

The zombies of the game remind me of L4D. There's the siren which screams really loud and you take damage if your near which reminds me of the witch. The bloat is a fat zombie that spits acid at you and it reminds me of the boomer. There's the scrake and flesh pounder. Both charge at you and you can take some serious damage, not to mention they have a lot of damage. Then there's another one that can actually shoot projectiles, however it isn't as hard to take down.

For the gameplay itself, it's fun. The feel of the guns are just right and are pretty powerful. The variety of guns are fun to use and trying out all the different guns in different situations take a while. The community is usually generous and they give you money if you need it; it's a good idea to give extra money to teammates anyways. Being the only person with good equipment won't last you or your teammates very long. There is no friendly fire in the game and you can change the difficulty level, ( easy, normal, hard, etc. )

Overall this game is fun. It's definitely worth 20$ and it's especially fun with friends. So far the routine of killing zombies after every wave and going to a trader to buy more stuff and killing more zombies hasn't bored me yet.
