Have some fun go GT5!

User Rating: 8.5 | Gran Turismo 5 PS3
This was my first game for the PS3 and I'm still playing it. (The game was in the PS3 Pack, which I bought in 2009)
Well…"playing it" is a big word. Once in a while I find myself craving for some speed. Here in the Netherlands the maximum speed is 120 Km/h (which translates in 74.57 mp/h) so you can't take your private car and go for a "nice spin". (actually, the traffic here is so crowded that only at 04:00 am you have any rate of success to get a nice long empty highway lane) But enough about the sorrows of traffic in a small country, back to GT5. So when the craving begins I warm up my Lamborghini Murcialago SV or since a week my Lambo Aventador LP-700. Luckily I'm in the possession of a Logitech G25 racing wheel. So the reality of speed is guaranteed! Let's smoke some asphalt.
My cravings are very stilled by this game. The reality of it all satisfies me greatly, controls, cars (I think they feel and look realistic, I don't really know because I don't own a supercar) and the tracks.
I have driven Spa-Franchorchamps, with the eau-rouge curve, for myself and I must say in GT5 it's very accurate.
The games options and number of cars are very divers. You can get licenses (skill tests), drive a track for training to familiarize yourself with it and get the fastest time possible. The one thing you want to do is race. So the races are categorized in five divisions, from amateur to extreme. And many more different play styles are possible.
I like the fact that you get experience and earn credits. The downside is that a lot of supercars are a lot of credits. E.g. a race yields 16.000 credits for a gold trophy, but a Lambo Miura costs 5.000.000 credits.
The game is very good fun, but I can't play it for weeks. That's just me, I want more than just racing. But when the craving starts I always go for GT5. Because it's just so realistic and very, very good fun!
