  1. Play Secret Game

    Fight in 2 player mode 100 times and the game, which is similar to galaga will appear

  2. Secret Arena

    While fighting Shao Kahn during one player mode, press start on the second player controller. Play a two player game, and you will battle in the sky.

  3. Always defeated w/ a brutality or fatality

    Lose a single player match and hold Down on controllers 1 and 2. Your opponent will end the match with a fatality or brutality

  4. Versus Screen Codes

    At the versus screen before the match, Player 1 enters the 1st 3 digits while Player 2 enters the last 3. The first digit in each parenthesis for both Player one and Player two is A if it says 4 you tap it 4 times. The same process is used for the middle digit which is B, and the third digit which is C.

  3. Misc. Codes

    The following cheats are to be quickly entered at the copyright screen, or at any of the story intro scenes unless otherwise stated. If you perform the cheats correctly, you'll hear a chime or Shao Khan will say something.

  4. Unlock Smoke

    At the game story sequence when the "Words of Rayden" screen appeared, rotate the control 360 degree clockwise a few times. If done correctly, the Ultimate Kombat Kode screen will appeared.

    Now enter this Ultimate Kombat Kode: (010-696) Dragon - MK - Dragon - Goro - Skull - Goro by pressing R1 once, X six times, O nine times, and â–³ six times. Alternatively, you could just press R1 once, then hold Up on the control pad and press X four times, O once, and â–³ four times.

    If done correctly a message, "From this point on, Smoke is at your control" will appeared on the bottom confirming that Smoke is now a selectable fighter at the character selection screen.

    Note: This code is not permanent and Smoke doesn't stay unlock or into memory so once you reset the game he'll be locked again. You'll had to re-enter the code or access the cheat menu if you want to play him again every time you reset or turn on the game.

  4. Unlock Smoke in Character Select Screen (Windows MK3)

    When you first start the game. Rotate the directional pad clockwise on any of the opening screens. The ultimate kombat kode screen will now appear.

    If you enter the code correct, you will hear Shao Kahn say "Outstanding". On the bottom of the screen will say "From this Point on, Smoke is at your Control"

    This code only works in the Windows port of MK3 not DOS.

Mortal Kombat 3 Cheats For Super Nintendo

  1. Random select

    At the character select screen go to Shang Tsung if you are first player and press Up + Start. If you are second player, do this on Lui Kang instead of Shang Tsung.

  2. Play As Smoke

    At the copyright screen, hold Left and A.
    When the Williams logo appears, release the buttons and hold Right and B.
    When the words ''There is no knowledge that is not power'' appear, release the buttons and hold X and Y
    Continue to hold the buttons until the MK3 logo appears. Smoke will walk onto the screen and Shao Kahn will say ''Outstanding'' when you entered the code correctly.

  3. Fight at the Hidden Portal Stage

    In Mortal Kombat 3, there are two ways to reach the Hidden Portal stage (also called The Vortex in this version):

    1. When playing in two player mode, at the vs. screen enter this code: 205-205. With this code in place the winner of the first round will get to fight Smoke at the Hidden Portal stage in the next round.

    2. When playing in two player mode, at the vs. screen enter this code: 989-898. This vs. kombat kode will put both players in a Random 8-Man Tournament Match, if Smoke is among one of the participants for either player then the match will be held at the Hidden Portal stage, if Smoke is not among any of the participants then you'll just fight at any of the ten normal stages.

    Note: Smoke must not be unlock as a playable character in order for the Hidden Portal to be present. For some reason if you unlock Smoke, the Hidden Portal stage will never appear at all.

  4. Stealth Select

    At the character selection screen, you could stealth select a character without the other player knowing.

    For Player 1: Rotate the d-pad 360 degree clockwise then press SELECT.
    For Player 2: Rotate the d-pad 360 degree counter clockwise then press SELECT.

    The cursor will disappear but you can still hear the cursor sound when you press a direction. When you believe that you are ready to pick a fighter just press any action button.
