Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda Cheats For Dedicated Console

  1. Sleep Mode Art

If you don't press any buttons for three minutes, the console will automatically enter Sleep Mode. When it does, some bonus art may appear. There are 11 images in total, and the one that appears depends on what game was being played when it went into Sleep Mode, as well as what time it is. Note: The system won’t enter Sleep Mode when plugged into its charging cable, or if the mode has been disabled via the clock settings.

  2. Countdown Timer Mode Fairies

Once the Countdown Timer Mode runs out of time, don't press any buttons to continue. Instead, leave it on the same screen for 30 seconds. A fairy will suddenly appear and fly around in the background. The longer you leave it running, the more fairies will appear.

  3. Zelda CDI Easter Egg

If you leave the system idle for 24 hours a scene from the obscure Zelda CDI game will play.

  4. Sound ON Mode

When you normally use the clock, it has a generic chime to keep pace with the time. But if you press and hold the A button for five seconds, you'll activate Sound ON Mode, which replaces the chime with the music and sound effects from the game being depicted onscreen.

  7. Maximum Hearts In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

When starting a new game, select a play file and hold down the A button for five seconds. The game will automatically start, but keep holding the A button down until you hear an audio cue. You'll start the game with maximum hearts, and the sword will already be at Level 2 when you find it. However, if you die while this code is activated, you'll have to hold the A button for five seconds on the Game Over screen to continue with maximum hearts. If you don't input the code, the game will continue with only three hearts. Also, if you don't use this code at the very beginning of the game, you won't be able to activate it later on in the same play file.

  9. Manual Game Saving

While the games will immediately pick up after you turn off the console or switch to another game, there's a special code that allows you to save manually and restart from the title screen. Press A, B, Select, and Start at the same time. This code can be activated at different times depending on what game you're playing. For The Legend of Zelda, it's whenever the sub screen is open. For The Adventure of Link, it's whenever you're on the overworld, or when the sub screen is open while you're in town or on a battle screen. For Link’s Awakening, it can be done anytime.
