Time to save Planet Express.
The game Futurama has the members of Planet Express going out on a series of missions to save Planet Express and in the end the world. Planet Express is taking over by Mom and she has gone to great lengths to do some other things.
Gameplay: You play mostly as Fry who is giving a blaster and a few other weapons. Later missions you will also play as Bender, Leela, and Dr. Zoidberg. Mostly you are looking for objects or switches and battling off a variety of enemies.
Some of the actions get repetitive. There are few areas that will have you squeezing your controller little tighter then normal because if you mess up you are sent all the way back to the beginning of the level and have to start over.
Overall gameplay is above average if you are used to platform type games this will fit most of your needs.
Graphics: Well above average and what really makes this game is the eye candy. If you seen an episode or two of the show you will feel like you are part of the show. The levels themselves are also done so you are not constantly looking at the same rooms over and over again. The Sun level was one of my favorites.
Sound: Some of the phrases are funny. But they do get repetitive after a while. How many times can you listen to Fry making that blaster noise before the urge to mute your tv takes control of you. Having the actors from the tv series doing the voices adds to feel of the game and again you will feel like you are in charge of one of the episodes playing this game.
Value: If you like the series and want this game in your collection. I say go for it as a platform game it is not all that bad. But for those who are avid platform gamers you might only want to rent this game before making a commitment of buying it. Replay is kind of low because there are no real secrets to be found and you can not just select a level to play.
Tilt: I had a hard time getting into this game. I even like Futurama and still to this day try to follow the series. The premise of the game is good but the gameplay can cause the game to drop in value. A weekend's worth a play is about all this game will offer to most after that it is a shiny box for your collection.
