They're cheaper. I'll only buy a game used if I'm really looking forward to it, or if the store doesn't have it used.

Price mainly. $60+ dollars is a bit too steep for my tastes. I'll usually buy new if it is a Greatest Hits or Platinum edition or something. I also don't nee dto have the newest games. I just recently finished Oblivion and Mass Effect, and I've got the original Fable ($12 on amazon), Lost Odyssey ($16 on Amazon) and Eternal Sonata ($20 on amazon) to work through now. By the time I finish those, i'll be able to pick up Fallout 3 and Tales of Vesperia for ~$20. And so on.

I'm happy buying used games. You get the same game, but much cheaper. Just make sure to check the disc before you leave the store to check its condition. If a new game comes out that I really want, or know I will play a lot I'm happy to pay full price at launch.

I dont buy used if there is like a 5 dollar price difference. the only time i will buy used is if there is a good change in price. like GTAIV, 60 new 30 used. I also get some older games from goozex.

I get only new games. I dont buy many, so when I do find a game worth buying, I like to buy it new and open it up for myself. Thats also why I dont go to Gamestop anymore.

If the game is still fairly new (around 60 bucks) ill go ahead and buy it new. But for whatever reason some games you can find used for almost half the price, yet the regular retail doesn't drop. That one is kind of a no brainer for me. Besides, I'm a poor :P

If it's a game I really want that's just come oput, I'll usually buy it new as being used only saves a couple of quid. If it's a game that I'm less bothered about, I'll usually pick it up 6 months down the line used for a fraction of the price.

I prefer new games, but I also have Gamefly and sometimes it just makes sense to buy the game used for half the price. Of course, with GF you get to see for yourself the disc isn't wrecked before you pay for it and you can't really do that in a game store (you really have to play it to make sure it works ok, just eyeballing the disc does NOT work). If I go to the game store it is almost always to buy a new game (unless something catches my eye in the used game section).

I don't buy used games anymore. I hate how they put stickers all over the case and sometimes the disc. Also, just the fact that people have intentions of trading in games means to me they don't care about what they do to them. The only time I would buy a used game if it was no longer in production and hard to come by.

Yes, because their is a used cd store in my town that buffs discs for free, so I don't worry about scratched discs.

I buy used games simply because they're cheaper. As long as they come with their original box and manual and the game's in good condition (I like to have my collection all nice), I have no problem picking up a second-hand game.

I usually get my games new. I only do this because I end up getting new games for cheaper than most used prices. I just watch for places like Target and Radio Shack to put games on clearance. I've picked up 14 games in the past few months for $14.98 while the same games were $59.99 new and $54.99 used at other places.

I only buy games that I consider lesser game used. If it is a game that I know I want when it comes out, I would rather have it shiny and new.

Never, like other people are saying they are usually not much cheaper than new games. The past year I got RB2 Special Edition(Can you buy that used?), also GTA4, RBSV2, both when they first came out, so they werent on sale as used. Also NHL 09, for christmas, so I didnt even buy that.

I don't really mind. I work at gamestop so my employee discount plus the edge card get me 25 percent off. I picked up Little Big Planet and Fable II for about $40 each. The used price tagged stickers are easy to peel off and the discs are usually in mint condition. When it comes to PS3 games I'm definately not skeptical since blu-rays are almost impossible to scratch.
